My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

That will be a good meeting for you to get a little help @Sans911 How can we support you tonight to help you flesh out some of what you already have?

Re: My special place

I already have a extension of two weeks up to this coming Monday @Snowie. I have a learning plan for my mental health issues that affords me certain privileges. I saw an Equity & Diversity Officer at the uni when I started. I also special consideration for my exam as well. I'm tired of being ashamed of my mi so I figured the help was there from the university so why not use it.

Re: My special place

Feeling for you with the no-shows at volunteer groups @Sans911 ..... glad you had coffee with a friend though.

Understanding of mental health issues and openness about it is quite prevailant in my course, I am pleased to say. Makes things much easier for everyone, and it’s not unusual to be under an equity plan ..... and for the tutors to go looking to see if one is in place if students seem to be struggling ..... along with a suggestion to look into a myriad of learning support services on campus. It’s such a head-spin ..... especially after very little of that seemed to be available to us in our previous location.

Go you ❣️ It’s not an even playing field. So good to see you accepting the support you’re entitled to.

I'm going to a meditation class soon, which clears my mind a little and might help me to get a little more out of my head onto the computer. I did a pretty good plan before I started. Now it's just a matter of getting the information own and referencing it properly.

I'm not sure of any other way you can help. I've got a good supply of journal articles and my text book as well.

But thank you @Zoe7. That's very kind of you

Re: My special place

Having a clear plan is a really good start @Sans911 Tackle it one point at a time and then collate it all together - that is how I used to tackle assignments - never looking at the whole thing until I had gotten all that I needed to into paragraphs or pages then tying it all together to make sense and have structure and flow.

Hopefully after your meditation class - and a little distance from it - you can come at it with a fresh mind. Let me know how it goes Hon.

Re: My special place

Had my psych appt. this morning. Layed it all out on the table and told him how I am really feeling. Told him about my SI and SH plans. He is going to ring the pdoc (who I see on Friday) and let him know where I am at the moment. I guess it will save me repeating everything to the pdoc on Friday.

He suggested hospital might be the best place for me atm but I am so hesitant to go in, especially with the school holidays coming up. Am meant to go away over the Easter break with the family and will feel so bad for them if I am in hospital. I know on one hand it would be a safest place for me but I don't want to let my family down.

Psych is going to ring me this afternoon just to check in with me. He also suggested using the CATT team if I need to.

Re: My special place

Hospital is the safest ption hun; you know that. It's not a place any of us like to be, but you need to maintain your safety. Right now your needs are the priority. There will be more Easter holidays, but they will be better ones because you will be around to enjoy them. I'm concerned for you @Snowie. Well one for being vulnerable today. That takes a lot of courage. Hugs
