Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

I am actually doing ok tonight @Snowie but would love to continue chatting with you - it ha been a while since we have done that - with you being in hospital and me having time away not doing so good. I bet you are missing Izzy heaps - I have my little fluffball next to me (surprise, surprise lol) so I will give him a pat from you. Are hubby and the kids coming to visit tomorrow?

Re: My special place

@Zoe7 glad you are doing better tonight but chatting would be good and it has been awhile.

Missing Izzy heaps. Hubby and kids coming in tomorrow. Hoping to go home early next week.

Re: My special place

I have made a tentative plan to get back to work sometime in term 4 @Snowie -looking at 2 days per week and building up to 4 days by the end of term - I figure even doing a few weeks of that will be draining but then I will have an idea of how I would cope after the school holidays. To be honest - I need the money - my income protection runs out at the end of November and I won't be able to pay my mortgage if I am not working by then.

I am getting better at talking in DBT - not much but a little and that is progress for me. I have made a couple of connections there also and that is helping me feel more settled.

How long will your family be visiting for? Do they bring Izzy too?

Re: My special place

@Zoe7that sounds good about getting back to work. Hopefully it is something you can manage and it doesn't make you too tired.

I am glad DBT is feeling more settled. I know how hard it was for you at the start so glad to hear you have found your voice a little.

I start an into DBT course in a couple of weeks. Only goes for 8 sessions but it is a start.

Family won't visit for long, probably about an hour. Haven't been sleeping the best at night so been having some naps during the day too. No Izzy, would have to go to a park and too wet and cold for that.

Re: My special place

I will be very interested to see how you go with DBT to begin with to @Snowie - my pdoc is super happy with how I am going...I still have difficulties with taking in some of what we talk about but my pdoc thinks I am doing much better in that regard as well. I find it hard to concentrate still for the second hour - the concepts are not hard to understand - I just can't focus to take them in.

It is cold and wet here too - Toby doesn't even want to go outside these days so I can understand how you would not want to go to a park in this weather with Izzy. Even Cat has been spending all her time inside - there has been no or little sun for her to sit in outside.

How are you going with seeing your pdoc?

Re: My special place

@Zoe7I have done a little bit of DBT in hospital when they have had a group on it. It has only been an introduction but enough to dip my feet into.

I haven't actually seen my pdoc for awhile. He went away for a bit so have been seeing a colleague of his, who is nice too. I actually prefer the colleague so might look into changing a bit.

The only problem with the DBT course is that is is alot like yours where there is a group and individual session. This means I would have to stop seeing my psychologist as I would see one through the DBT course. I am not sure if I want to do that or not.

Re: My special place

Could you see both @Snowie - one for the DBT component and the other for everything else - my pdoc goes through the DBT stuff with me - is that also an option?

In response to: Re: My special place

Re: My special place

@Zoe7they said no because it could be too much confusion between the two psych's. For the 8 week course I don't have to change. The long DBT course doesn't start for awhile anyway so any decision is a long way off. The 8 wk course is to see if I want to do the longer one.

I have to have a pdoc during that time

@outlandermy special sis, how are you?
