Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Do you think every 4 weeks is helpful @Snowie ?

I do like breakfast outings after sport and I enjoy seeing the cyclists and runners all together on a sunny Saturday morning. Even better if I can just watch and not talk.

Re: My special place

I really don't know @Eve7

Yes it has kept me out of having any more admissions. My last one was before I started the monthly ECT.

Right now with how I feel, No.

Overall, I think it probably has kept me more stable.

I'm glad you have your breakfast outings then. I would enjoy them too if I didn't have to talk!!

Re: My special place

Sometimes I think that, even though it’s a pain, being admitted and having it 3x week for 4 weeks achieves more, I don’t really know @Snowie but I wish I could help you.

I’m just going to move the washing under coveri then do 12 minutes of housework as it’s the 12th lol 😜

Re: My special place

I know my pdoc is pushing for an admission. Even my psych mentioned it yesterday @Eve7

You are right that it would prob help

The problem is that it inconveniences everyone around me.

Who would look after mum for 4 weeks. Putting more stress onto H. Even basic things like washing, preparing dinner, food shopping. All put onto his shoulders whilst still trying to work full time. It doesn't just affect me, it is everyone around me.

But then I'm looking at how close I'm coming and think do I have a choice.

Re: My special place

I know an admission would put people out @Snowie but they’re all adults at home and your mum’s needs should be met by her care facility. You’re important hun, very important and you deserve help even if it does put people out.

If it was someone else in the family needing an admission I’m sure you’d support them to get what they need.

Anyway let’s have a cuppa 🩵

Re: My special place

@Eve7 I know everyone would adapt. They have in the past coped. The last admission I had, my mum was still living at home with us so was helping with the domestic tasks. She was even still driving herself. Much different this time.

It's easy for us to say this to a family member/friend, but when it comes to us we think differently.

We think we don't deserve the help

A cuppa sounds nice.

Re: My special place

Gonna chime in and repeat what @Eve7 said @Snowie everyone is an adult and they will cope. And even if they don’t they will survive.
but you could cook some meals and put them in the freezer if that would help. Can you do groceries delivery from hospital? I do that for mum sometimes, if it’s somewhat planned I will stick up before I go in and then do another one to restock on stuff, especially for D’s snacks and foods she eats- particularly helpful cause mum doesn’t drive. And laundry? It’s an amazing life skill for your kids to learn! (I even threaten to teach my D cause she must think we love to do laundry!)

and your mum. She will absolutely survive. She has many caring people paid to ensure that she does.

time to take care of our precious @Snowie cause we love her 💗

Re: My special place

Oh and I will add… the Cole’s fresh lasagna that you get from the prepared meal section tastes pretty good @Snowie quick and easy for hubby or the kids to put on. I’m a bit fussy with my lasagna and I actually like this one 🙂

Re: My special place

We all deserve the help @Snowie but I have the same thoughts about my admissions.

What’s on your menu tonight? Going easy here, eggs on toast.

Re: My special place

Thanks @Bow

I know they will cope, just trying to convince myself.

Last time I cooked a lot of meal before I went in.

They both do know how to wash

I think I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need to go

Never tried that lasagna. Will have to get one next time I'm there.
