Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

They will never stop being my 'kids' @Jynx no matter the age.

Still got them presents to open chrissy day.

I did read that you have got some time off. I hope you have a nice Christmas and a nice break. Enjoy 💗😁

Hi @AuntGlow I’m ok entertaining family tonight. It’s good watching the teenagers interact together.

Aww that sounds lovely. What was good about watching them interact? @Eve7 🥰

I understand, and often rest is the very thing we need to feel regulated. @Snowie 💛

Not at all. I feel the same and it can be so exhausting. I actually had this experience yesterday, so I very much resonate with what you share.

Yes, exactly. What do you think makes it feel more safe to be self-critical and scary to be self-compassionate? 🤔

That's great to hear that mum was in a good mood! Did you buy anything for Christmas?

Re: My special place

Hi @AuntGlow

I don't know what makes it feel more safe to be self-critical. I think that maybe if I did, I would have started that journey. I do worry that if I start to be self critical than I might not like what I see.

Growing up I learnt early on to hide my feelings/behaviours. To the outside we were the perfect family. My mum made sure that appearances meant everything. We had to act/look a certain way. Behind closed doors it was a different story.

I took mum out again this morning. She was ok today which was good.

I have to go up the street tomorrow morning for a few things, but I have everything else needed for Christmas Day except some rolls which I can't get until Wed.

Just a bit more cleaning to do and then it should all be ready.

Re: My special place

It is just good to see them get on so well as family @AuntGlow and today the younger cousins played together as I took my niece to her sister’s and gd2 came for the ride and enjoyed playing with my niece’s daughter.

We’ve just arrived home at S1’s where I’ll spend the night before driving back down the coast tomorrow.

Hi @Snowie how are you? 💜💜💜

Re: My special place

So got to the bank and shops early thins morning. Not many people around. That was nice.

Came home and spent over an hour weeding the front lawn. I live on land so the front lawn is big!

Just have to go spray some weeds. Still got bathroom and laundry to clean.

Just taking a break and having a coffee.

Doing things is keeping me distracted which is good. I'm scared to stop and think. That's when things go downhill. Thats when those thoughts return.
