Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

@AuntGlow I'm just trying to enjoy the calmness in my head!

Started a new jigsaw yesterday and been reading a bit.

When possible I love losing myself in a book. Makes time just fly by. Only problem is that I forget to do things I have to do!!

I have always found self-compassion hard. I think growing up being judged all the time might be one of the many factors why.

Today I'm grateful for that calmness 🤗

We had dumplings, curry laska soup and curry chicken!! It's a Malaysian Restaurant

Ah, I love that you're experiencing some calm. That must feel so warm and welcome. @Snowie 🥰

What book would you like to read/listen to next? 🤩

A wonderful gratitude.

Oh my gosh, YUM. Count ME IN. 😋

Re: My special place

I never listen to books @AuntGlow never been a fan

Also the same goes for music and things like podcasts. Even in the car I rarely have the radio on.

My next book is called One Life. It's a true story about Sir Nicholas Winton and his work during WW2.

Re: My special place

Oh that's completely fair! @Snowie

There's an artistic medium for everyone. 🥰

That book sounds really interesting. I hope you're able to find some time today to get lost in his story. 😍

Do you like music @AuntGlow?

I've never been into arts too. Some people are just born with a gift of designing. making and drawing things. I was never one of them.

Give me facts, equations and science any day!

Big day today. Have to take mum out for clothes and shoes shopping. Will be very mentally draining.

Re: My special place

YES! Music is so healing for me. @Snowie

Wow, that's so cool though. I think science is very analytical and can be quite creative - how else would we have achieved half the things we have technologically?! You have to be able to think laterally too!

Is there one thing you're looking forward to about seeing mum? 💛

Maths/Science always came easy to me @AuntGlow

Maybe that's why I studied them at uni.

I do like spending time with her. She just gets very stressed when out in public.

Back home now. She got what she wanted and took her out for lunch too so she was happy.

Re: My special place

Hi @Snowie @AuntGlow glad you had a good day Snowie. I had a nice afternoon at my Argentine friend’s house speaking Spanish. We wandered around her lovely garden, then she talked about the books in Spanish she gave me to read. We had a cuppa and cake. I got home before peak hour traffic. Relaxing now after speaking Spanish for 2 hours. I have to concentrate.

Re: My special place

Sounds like you had a nice time with your friend @GezzaP Even better that you could practice your Spanish. I think reading Spanish would be even harder.

Re: My special place

I can read Spanish fairly well but

fiction is harder than non-fiction. @Snowie I had a lovely afternoon. Was nice to see my friend as it’s been a while since I saw her. Beating peak hour traffic on my way home was a bonus.
Just walked around the garden. More seeds have germinated hooray. Hoping for nice weather tomorrow so I can plant my succulent cuttings. Waiting for more seedscto arrive in the post.
