@Snowie ugh, bit like that hey! Such a horrible thing that money rules our mental health care. And lives. Have you spent much time navigating the public system? Honestly whether one or the other is better probably comes down to the individual institutions involved, like maybe in your area the public hospital is actually decent and private is all crappo. Hard to say... 😵

You're hitting on something here I think... That we don't get support until it is dire is one of the BIGGEST issues in the system. You shouldn't have to feel like you need to go to that length just to feel heard.

We have a small public hospital but it's so small they don't even have a mental health nurse/worker. They just send you home or tell you to get someone to drive you to a major hospital.

It's about an hours drive to the nearest public or private hospital.

My "local" mental health unit is a 45min drive away.

It's true, unless you do something dire you don't get noticed/heard. Sad.

In saying that I better go. Anyway, thanks for chatting to me and helping me tonight and the other nights too. I do really appreciate it even if I didn't say it.

Took mum to an eye appointment today after her surgery on Wednesday. Went fine. On the way home she got a message from Vic Roads saying to expect some paperwork for a medical review of her license. She didn't understand what it meant so I explained it to her and what would happen.

Well she lost it and I was the punching bag again.

Home now @Ru-bee She's gone back downstairs. Hoping I can have a bit of a break.

I can understand her being upset. It's her last bit of independence left, and it might be taken away.

But that's not my fault and I'm not to blame for it. Told again I don't care and just want to put her in a nursing home and forget about her.

@Shaz51 I've taken over most things. She still does have access to her bank account, but I've limited her account to just one. I'm doing everything to do with finances.

To you both, how are your days going?

Yeah it would be a huge blow and it's really understandable that she'd be upset @Snowie I just so wish it wasn't another thing taken out on you with all that you do for her
