Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Not much sleep last night

Sore throat, headache and feel just yuk.

Meds not helping.

Did a rat test - negative

Re: My special place

I wonder of the test will come up positive later? @Snowie I'm sorry everything feels so YUCK right now.

I didn't sleep for 3 days and I was buggered by the 4th day....

I did an influenza and covid test as I thought I had one of them... but it was clear. Others around me have COVID though.

Re: My special place

Hopefully it's not covid @tyme

No doubt you would have been buggered by the fourth day. I don't know how you would do that. I would end up going of the rails. Even just from last night, my brain is going haywire.

Re: My special place

I was getting very short and frustrated with people @Snowie . It wasn't nice. But thank God I got some reprieve last night and actually had a really good sleep 🙂

Are you reading any books at the moment?

Re: My special place

@tyme I'm so glad you got some sleep last night. Hopefully you can get some more tonight.

Not really reading anything at the moment. Because I'm still having ECT I find if I start a book, then I just forget it so have to then start again.

Re: My special place

True that... no point in starting again and again @Snowie

I guess it's about enjoying something there and then 🙂

Re: My special place

Hiya @Snowie - just a lil thought from my ADHD brain - since I am SO forgetful, it's actually really common for me to forget a book/movie/tv show almost entirely after a year or so. I have reframed this into being a good thing, cos it's like I get to expeirence it like it's the first time all over again! Maybe you could choose a book you know you'll enjoy, and then just read it twice?

You don't have to obvs, just throwing the idea atcha!

Re: My special place

@Jynx that is true, I could just read it again.

It's not so bad now b/c I'm only having ECT monthly at this stage.

I'm also guessing that it will stop over the xmas period.

@tyme

I know this has been asked/discussed before. I know that MH professionals deserve a break, they certainly deserve it. They have every right to take holidays, relax, take time out, etc.

For me, xmas is such a huge trigger. I have many traumas around this period. Yes, with my supports, I put things into place, try and make a plan, but that still doesn't make this time any easier. I'm not sure if people realise just how hard it can be with little support around.

I'm even at the point where I haven't even been able to organise psych appointments for next year, even though I have asked. Just this in itself has left me in an anxious mess.

I know Sane is a 24hr service and that there are help lines, yet I'm wondering if there is a thread set up or can be set up for the Christmas period. Perhaps a place where people can get support, give support or just feel like they have people that understand them. I'm sure there has been something in the past like this, but ect brain can't remember it.

Re: My special place

Yes, there will be a thread set up @Snowie . I totally hear you about the Xmas period. SANE itself is closing for a few days, but there will still be mods on the forums - just no peer workers. It's a shame as I'd rather be with you all and I don't celebrate Christmas, but it's an organisational decision.

I believe we are closed 25th Dec to 1st Jan (inclusive).

But as I said, there will still be mods floating around.

Re: My special place

Good to hear that there will be a thread @tyme and that there will still be mods around. I'm sure there are others that feel the same way.

Christmas was always such a huge thing for us growing up. Now, it's just a constant reminder of the past.
