Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Cooking for me is like gardening for others @creative_writer

I can't keep any plants alive but I can make lots of different foods/meals!!

Letting go is hard. It's not something that comes easily to any of us. I think it is something that takes time to achieve. It's like getting control. That takes time too.

Trying to make it through until then is really hard too.

Re: My special place

Hi @tyme

I'm going ok, just a lot happening at the moment.

Am hoping I can deal with everything without crashing again.

Re: My special place

Do you feel you are in a better space to handle everything @Snowie ?

Is there anything we can support you with? Or you do have people to support you?

Re: My special place

@Snowie keeping pet plants alive can be hard work. It’s amazing you have the skill of cooking various meals. It is something that you learn with time.

Letting go is very hard especially when you’ve grown up wanting to control things.

@tyme I sort of forgot to take my sunglasses today to uni. Got a migraine attack on the way back, hence brain is now anxious. How are you?

Re: My special place

I feel like I am in a better place atm @tyme

I am hoping that monthly ECT can help keep me stable. I am also back to seeing my psych fortnightly and my pdoc monthly too. My meds have been tweaked a bit also.

So I do have support around me. I do have things in place.

The thing I am most worried about is that besides my change in meds, I had all this in place last time too, and I still ended up in hospital. With that and becoming a carer for my mum, it does plant that small seed of doubt inside of me.

I do feel like I get support on here. It is just a matter of me reaching out if I need too.

Re: My special place

Maybe it's about taking it one step at a time and not thinking too far in advance? @Snowie

Is there respite care for your mum which you can apply for?

It sounds like you have supports in place at the moment and you know the people you can reach out to.

Fingers crossed it goes okay for you all.

We are here for you, backing you up 🙂

Hey @creative_writer ,

I'm pretty okay. Sorry to hear you forgot your sunnies at home and it's frazzled your brain a little. I have to say, it was pretty sunny today... on the cooler side, but the sun was bright.

How are you finding uni in itself?

Re: My special place

I think you are right @tyme Just taking it one step at a time and trying not to think too far ahead.

In the process of trying to organise support for her. Unfortunately everything takes time. Still waiting for a specialist appointment. Last time I checked she was number 36 on the wait list and they get through two people a week 😏

I'm very lucky, I know I have the forum for support.

Re: My special place

I feel that if you didn't push or advocate for your mum, she'd still be waiting a long long time @Snowie At least you've put her on the waitlist.

Consider all the things within your control that you can do. Yes, whilst we can't change the waitlist, is there something you can do to ensure you are being looked after while you look after your mum?

Do you have siblings that can support with the care of your mum?
