Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Hi @Snowie , I'm glad you got your hair done. You didn't mention how your pdoc appt went on Monday, so I'm hoping it was OK. Did your pdoc have the discharge summary from the hospital?

I'm sad about your mother's damaging views on psychology that she uses against you 😣 My brother and father are the same, unfortunately.

Hi @NatureLover

Pdoc appt. went ok. He didn't have the discharge summary yet so his receptionist has to chase it up. Let him know what happened in there and the med changes. He said I sounded better!

His office is right next to the hospital I was in so should be able to get it quite easily.

Unfortunately I don't expect anything less from my mum which is quite sad. She has always been like this. She is the type to see a psych once, say it didn't help, so never go back.

Enough about me, how are you this morning?

Re: My special place

Unfortunately my brother did the same @Snowie and now hates psychology.

That's a pain the discharge summary wasn't there, but it sounds like he can track it down fairly easily. Glad the appt went OK.

I'm OK this morning although negotiating a tricky situation with my aforementioned brother. We used to be close, but he's much harder these days. 😥

Re: My special place

It's sad when they are like this @NatureLover because my mum could really do with seeing a psych. She has a lot of issues that she just won't admit too.

I don't see my brother at all. It has been like that for a few years now. I had to put my mental health over what he wanted. Not that I was close to him, I never have been.

I feel like family should be there for us through thick and thin, but unfortunately that isn't the case. To me family is more than just blood. It is the people that stick by us through the good and bad times.

I'm sorry your relationship with your brother is strained.

Re: My special place

Thanks, @Snowie . I know you understand, sadly.

I'm sorry your mother refuses to see a psych.

I think you're amazing to live with your mother.

Unfortunately we cannot change others @NatureLover We just have to accept how they are and try and deal with them.

I just hope that you have some support around you hon, whether that be family and/or friends.

Re: My special place

@Snowie I totally get that it’s hard when your mum would benefit from therapy but won’t see a psych. I think my mum would benefit too, but she doesn’t trust psychs.

@NatureLover sorry to hear about the strained relationship with your brother. Family relationships can be hard to navigate at times

@creative_writer I've learnt just to accept my mum how she is. I can't change her.

How is your day going?

@Snowie better than yesterday. How are you?

Re: My special place

Glad it is better then yesterday @creative_writer

Have you been up to much?

I am ok. Had a follow up call from the hospital saying the pdoc referred me to their EMDR program. I sort of remember him suggesting it to me. It would mean another 4 week block as an inpatient. Whilst I think it could help I can't do that to my family again. Maybe in 6 months time but not as soon as 2 weeks time.
