Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

oh that would make them fussy if they've filled up on biscuits before dinner @tyme

As long as you don't have to deal with them then they can cry as much as they want to!! Let their Dad deal with them.

I'm not sure what is harder, young kids or teenagers 😁

Re: My special place

I have never had a migraine @creative_writer but my mum does get them, along with all the other symptoms. I see how much she struggles with them, so could only imagine how much they affect you hon. I think you are right, people just think they are a bad headache. I don' think they realise just how bad they can be and how it can affect you both physically and mentally.

I hope the quiz tomorrow goes well. 20 mins isn't long.

Lol @Snowie . Dad has now left with one kid so I'm left with one moping kid. @Snowie

I don't mind little kids or teenagers as long as I can hand them back.

By the way, when you were teaching, what subjects did you teach?

Re: My special place

@Snowie, I’ve been curled up in bed. I’m starting to feel other discomfort which is way worse than any migraine. Body flashbacks are weird, I would say it’s on the milder side but still uncomfortable

Re: My special place

Handing them back certainly has it's advantages @tyme!

My D always says she is never having children, she says she wouldn't cope with them!

When I was teaching I taught Maths, Health and PE. I mostly taught secondary students. The last 3 years that I taught I didn't teach that much. I was a sub school leader so in charge of year 9 and 10 students.

Body flashbacks are hard to deal with @creative_writer I have had them before, maybe just in a different way. I hope bed can give you some comfort and security.

Re: My special place

@Snowie I commend you for being a high school teacher, it can be challenging but also very rewarding.

I tend to get body flashbacks and perhaps emotional flashbacks. Flashbacks look different for everyone. It’s uncomfortable feeling trauma happening in the body all over again. I do feel safer in bed. At least it’s not too hot for covers today

Wow @Snowie . That's a lot. Do you maintain your teaching registration? Must have been stressful. My sister is a leading teacher, but for primary school kids. She works 4 days now. I think she likes it.

Re: My special place

@creative_writer I agree with you that flashbacks looks different for everyone and that everyone's body deals with them differently. I'm glad you feel safer in bed. I tend to find that I use my weighted blanket a lot to deal with my flashbacks. The weight for me certainly does help.

@tyme I still do have my teaching registration. I often think that one day I would like to be able to return to teaching in some way. It was very stressful, especially since that age isn't easy. I was at a public school in a very disadvantaged area too which added a whole lot of different challenges.

I'm glad your sister likes it. You are right @creative_writer it can be very rewarding.
