Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

I would expect that it is very hard to learn @creative_writer It would take a lot of time, patience and hard work. I admire people that can speak/read a different language. I wish I could.

Tomorrow is just a check up so hopefully just in and out.

Re: My special place

@creative_writer LOL. That's my issue. I have webster packs with clear dates and times... I still stuff up. Some days I take my meds and then accidentally take them again. At other times, I take the wrong ones... Sometimes I have the med in my mouth and spit it out because I realise I've taken the wrong ones!

Like seriously.. I only have 2 MH tablets to take and they were totally different shape and colour, and I still get it wrong.

One thing that helps which I've learnt is that when taking meds, you should do it mindfully. I need to write a note to be more mindful about taking meds..

Do you have may tips @Snowie @creative_writer @NatureLover @Bow @Eve7 ?

Re: My special place

@Snowie it does take a lot of patience and effort, but once it becomes routine, it’s pretty automatic. I try to take time for myself everyday, I know if I don’t, I do end up feeling more anxious.

@tyme not sure what else to suggest apart from being mindful when taking meds. I find myself counting my meds and supplements and checking them before taking. I have a ridiculous amount of meds, I take four different types of meds everyday, I sort of have to get it right or bipolar is more savage

Re: My special place

No tips here @tyme i generally don’t forget my morning or night meds. It’s just part of my routine. But I have started a 4pm dose as of last week and I have set an alarm on my phone to remind me to take it but I often turn the alarm off and then forget to go do it cause I am doing something else…. Just like today 😩

Re: My special place

2 meds are my main ones. I have others, but they aren't 'compulsory' meds for my mental health @creative_writer They just help alongside.

So I just need to get the 2 main ones right.

I'm glad you take yours mindfully @creative_writer

Re: My special place

@tyme I haven't really got any tips because I use webster packs too. I am on so many different meds for my mental health that this is the only way I can keep track of everything.

My local chemist has all my meds and I pick up my packs ever second week. They just let me know when I need to get new scripts for my meds. I also get a certain number of prn's each time I pick them up so I have extra if I need them.

It is only a small chemist and they know me by name so I feel really comfortable going there.

@Bow - Alarms!!!

Good idea. I also think i need to take some spares with me in my bag. That might help.

I'm glad you make time for yourself everyday @creative_writer I think it is important that we do something for ourselves each day.

Re: My special place

@tyme my mum had an alarm for her blood pressure meds. Alarms are worth trying as @Bow suggested. I’m on a good four main ones and I also take dietary supplements daily, so have lots to swallow. I wish I didn’t need as much meds, but my life would be so chaotic without them. It’s probably better to take them than going down the path of an attempt.

@Snowie it is really important. I hope you can still keep giving yourself time while you’re at home to nurture yourself 💖

Re: My special place

@tyme Do you mean that you take the morning ones at night, and the night ones in the morning? Not sure what you mean by "taking the wrong meds"...

I was shocked and sad to read that your severe depression lasted 15 years 😮 OMG. I spent 3 years in bed with severe depression and SI and SH, and it was a miracle I survived it. I am blown away by the thought of that x 5, that you endured... 💔 😭
