My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Morning @Sans911, sorry my meds pull me under very quickly. Guess that is a good thing. I hope you got some sleep last night and today is ok for you. Will be around if you need a chat.

@outlandermorning hun, yes pics got cleared quickly

Re: My special place

My night meds do exactly the same @Snowie, so I understand. I have an idea of how long I've got, but once the slide into sleep happens, there's no stopping it. It makes me wonder if we're on similar meds. What I'm on now works really well.

I've got my support worker coming to see me in a while, and then my case manager is coming to see me at home later to bring my meds and see how I am. I so wish you and outlander had these supportive people, as it really helps. I've oy had my support worker for a few weeks, but the idea is she will be with me for perhaps a year or me. She is there to support to also go with me to Centrelink and other 'difficult' appointments.

What's happening for you today?

Re: My special place

@Sans911I am three different types of night meds. One is for sleep, one for relaxing and one to make the nightmares not as intense. They work well but my pdoc has said they are not a long term solution, however sleep is a priority atm. We might be on similar.

I do wish I had these supports. I know I see my psych once per week but I feel I need more than that. Who is your support worker organised through?

I am super glad that you have those people in place for yourself however and that someone was ringing you on the weekend to make sure that you were ok.

Not alot today. Am tired after the weekend and can feel things getting on top of me so I think a self care day is needed.

Re: My special place

Good woman @Snowie. We all need self care days. My support worker is part of a program called PHAMS- personal helper and mentor support- I think that's what it's called. It's arranged through a mental health organisation. Your GP or pdoc could put a referral in, as you would certainly qualify. They can come to your home or meet you for coffee, or even go to a park or elsewhere. They can help with arranging other support services or with letters and advocacy. You can talk about what's happening to you and they can help you work through it. I have my sw for two hours each week. She's a bit bubbly at times, which I told her about last week, and we laughed about it. But she's nice too, and experienced. You can look up online what PHAMS is it might be called something different in your state.

My case manager works with the local outpatient mh clinic. He's my in between for any problems or things needing relaying to my pdoc or pyschologist in the times between seeing them as well as a support.

Re: My special place

Thanks @Sans911, will look into it. I see my pdoc at the end of the week so can ask them too. I have contacted my local mental health team but was tld they could do nothing for me now. Getting help is super frustrating at times.

I hope you day is ok

Re: My special place

How do people stop the downward spiral? I can feel it coming, yet feel powerless to stop it. I have been so good. I am doing self care, I have taken my meds, I am doing the things my pdoc and psych said, yet I still feel that darkness taking over. How do you stop it?
