Well my mum is back from her sisters and nothing has changed. She started on at me again. I just walked away. I hate confrontation. I hate the fact that she makes me feel like a child again.

I'm just angry at myself for not standing up for me @Jynx I've let myself down.

I know she has to have an outlet, but it shouldn't be me. I've told her for ages that she needs to go see a psych/counsellor, but that is always met with another argument.

How has your day been?

It's sooo much harder when it's family @Snowie - we often slip back into a mindframe similar to that we had growing up. I think sometimes they're called scripts? Like the script you have for dealing with her is not a reflection of your actual capacity to stand up for yourself. But I agree that she should not take it out on you, that is deeply unfair.

I'm doing pretty well, had a very chill weekend. Enjoying the cooler weather too. Got much on for the rest of today?

I’m sorry about your Mum being like she is. I ran into a friend at the airport yesterday and we were discussing our mothers. My friend’s mum has always been nasty but since she’s been in care her dr started her on a small dose of anti depressants and for the first time in my friend’s life she says her mum is nice! Maybe that’s what your mum needs…just a thought.

My mum doesn’t say much anymore…she didn’t even comment on my weight which was a relief!
