Something’s not right

Just sad.

Just sad.

The title says it all really. There is very little in my life which is going well tbh. The course... I'm in waaay over my head. I'm not smart enough for it. Now I feel stupid. I used to have an IQ of 132, these days I'm guessing I'd struggle to reach 100. That with the betrayal (and I don't really care who it is because at least it is the truth!) has thrown me.

I really wish I could just go to sleep for a very very long time.

Re: Just sad.

@Queenie I am very much running on empty myself at the moment, but I wanted you to know that I have read your post and that I hear you. It sounds like right now super sucks. I am glad that right now doesn't last forever. I super hope that things shift in a positive way for you sometime soon.

Re: Just sad.

Thank you @outlander and @Phoenix_Rising. Tomorrow is another day of studies and I feel like I am getting further and further behind because of my dimwittedness. Maybe it's the meds? Has anyone ever experienced that medications or their MI itself, has caused their brain to just go ......blah.?

Re: Just sad.

@Queenie, it took me 12 years to do a 4-year degree because of my muddled brain. For me it is the muddle itself rather than medication effects that is the issue. I have very significant concentration issues, which made uni superly duperly tricky. I can definitely relate to the frustration of having a brain that doesn't work as well as it used to!

Re: Just sad.

I definitely have a brain affected by MI/Meds.
In the past few weeks I have...
- opened the dog food with a can opener even though the other end had ring pull
-set the table for 8 even though only six for dinner
-burnt a fruitcake
-bought my mother steradent denture fixative instead of paste 😳
- tried to pay with Medicare card
-lost/found my Mum’s bank card 😳
-nearly left a car running when going shopping
Am I safe to let out on my own ?

Re: Just sad.

@Phoenix_Rising, I know I am incapable of studying full time, so it will take me a long time to finish this Diploma. If I do finish it, I think I will give up on my dream to study a Masters of Social Work at University. I just can't cut it and I'm just living in fairyland if I think I can. All I had left, after everything has been taken from me in the past, was my brain. Now I don't have that either. I have nothing left.

I even contemplated something earlier, something I cannot mention here. Everything is just a confusing mess.

Re: Just sad.

@Catcakes my brain is frazzled. The amount of times I could have sworn I've had early onset dementia is bordering on ridiculous! I've also tried to pay for things with my Medicare card, I've had to buy 3 different pensioner bus/rail passes in the same week because I've lost the others (with substantial credit on them too). I even momentarily 'forgot' how to plait hair the other day, despite doing it a thousand or so times.

I guess this meeting of Brain Mush Anonymous is now in session!

Re: Just sad.

My list of brain mush incidents is amusing to some @Queenie but it has cost me my career. I just couldn’t risk it anymore😔

Re: Just sad.

I hear you @Catcakes. Despite people around me making light of it, my brain mush is no laughing matter either. I was really wanting to be able to work at least part-time at the end of my studies. That doesn't look like it is going to happen and since I had my heart set on this as a career choice, I will be remaining on the DSP forever. 😞 It sucks doesn't it @Catcakes?

Re: Just sad.

It certainly does suck @Queenie.
So much so that I can’t even talk about it here in Forum land or IRL.
But I hope for your sakes there might be some good news.... brain plasticity. This means that brains can be unmushed and taught new pathways...!
This little mush brain is going to rest now.
😊
