Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Note* Ive just started this thread again so it will be visible. Once I deleted my account it no longer shows up.

please join in again if and when needed.

@Appleblossom. Take care with you neck and back while driving today.

@eudemonism - I don't know what you can do.

I've written my two letters re: my rego and rates bill/fine. Just have to write them out neatly and get photocopied paperwork to go into the letter too. Then done for the day. Job achieved

@Appleblossom @Faith-and-Hope

How do you both go with real life relationships and socialising? Do you find that relationships are an important need of your day to day life? Do you find there is a strong urge to keep in contact with people?

@utopia @Bunniekins updated question...

@eudemonism it's not easy eudemonism. I am still working on it. Close family is fine and close family friends are also good but as for making new friends it is hard.... it just takes time I think. I am not in a rush, I just want to get my mind sorted out first.

@eudemonism I am not a very sociable person so talking online and having my family close works well for me but I will definately need to broaden my horizons and become more sociable in the future. I have started that by doing courses etc. I am lucky I have my adult children living at home with me so that I am not alone. It does make a difference than living alone.

@eudemonism. When in the midst of my depression - I isolate myself and even reduce the amount of calls I take from family and friends.

Now my depression has gone - I'm initiating a lot of the contact with friends and family. I'm also talking more when I'm at the shops. I compliment people. I smile. It's not conscious. It's simply the real me coming back.

And yes, now that I'm well - I do crave company. A good conversation or to debate a topic. Helps work my slow brain.

Are you wanting more company now? Too.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@Bunniekins I don't think I'm all that sociable either. I struggle with returning to the same old relationships time and time again. Too duly get the same old results plus I also think it's my duty to myself and to them. Plus it is a coping mechanism and distraction from my illness and side effects. So it's a merry go round to say the least. My motivation for socialising is to quell the agitation, restlessness and anxiety. And to bide time. At my core there is a lazy, sleepy and docile person who is happy with his own company. However there is an element of socialising that is apart of our needs as humans. I'm single. I'm isolated from family. I don't have many friends. I find socialising a chore if anything. It arouses anxiety inside myself. So yea... Eude

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@utopia I actually said to myself yesterday. I Want more independence from people. I find that my main visitors over the last three years have sort if brought me down. And I find the same with people I visit. I socialise out of necessity not out of passion. I'm very sensitive to how relationships function and work. There's a lot to be questioned lol. Even when I'm doing well I get tired of people really easily. Socialising and relationships are hard work. That's the bottom line. Eude.

Afternoon @eudemonism @Bunniekins @utopia @Faith-and-Hope

Have been home all day today, was going to the meditation group this morning but my youngest had an eye exam yesterday and he's eye sight has gotten worse, so he has to have special glasses and is not allowed to go to school untl the glasses come in. Cause of his Autism hes always playing xbox,playstation games on phone, the optometrist said he has to have a break for at least 30minutes every 2 hours, so last night i tried it and he lost it and got angry, he said he was allowed to stay on his phone as he has the blue light filter on it so I'm not sure what to do, can't handle his tantrums every 2 hours.

Any suggestions guys would be great, so i don't have to resort back to my tablets.

@eudemonism Hi Eude we sound very similar. Dont beat yourself up about it. We are just different and different is good. Life would be boring if we were all the same. gp
