Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Note* Ive just started this thread again so it will be visible. Once I deleted my account it no longer shows up.

please join in again if and when needed.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi @Former-Member @Mazarita @Faith-and-Hope sounds like all of you had some small wins today. I woke up telling myself that once I got to work it wouldn't be as bad as I was feeling, but actually that proved to be a false hope! On the up side I did manage to sweep the floor, which the smart dog had made very dirty, and get dinner on the table after a hard day. And tomorrow is another day. Sleep calls, take care.

Hi @Former-Member, @Faith-and-Hope, @frog and everyone,

SunShower: that's great to hear that you feel a bit easier to know that I too am sometimes in nightwear at 'unusual' times of the day, hehe. I have many other habits I'd like to change but they all take time to really improve, I find. Meanwhile, beating myself up just makes everything harder or even impossible. Then I'm not doing what I think I 'should' - and depressed and feeling heavily weighed down by everything as well.

I still beat myself up sometimes, especially if certain patterns go on for too long. But in general I find it's a pretty useless feeling so try to let it go.

Perhaps we can both make an effort to be out of nightie before midday today. If it doesn't happen, so be it. But if it does, we can give ourselves a pat on the back.

Good Day everyone

@Mazarita Good idea about the changing before a certain time - I might have to move my time back a bit though. I'm often not awake until nearing that time, and the thing I've come to realise is that it's often not safe for me to shower as soon as I wake up like I used to. My muscles now take some time to get themselves sorted out, which is one of the main reasons why things have changed I suppose.

@Faith-and-Hope hehe, I do now recall that there were a couple of times I threw a big coat on over the winter nightie to drive the kiddies to school!

@frog Here's hoping today is a better day for you! naughty smart dog making more work for you!

goodness what is it about some days, huh? Had quite a reasonable day yesterday, woke up today just feeling bleh - can't think of any reason for it either - oh, well, I'll do what I can to keep on top of it.

Ehh, it's probably the time of year now I think of it, traditionally this has been a very bad time of year due to an accumulation of 'things' over time, so instead of being in crisis, I'm only feeling 'bleh', I'm working my out of that pattern, so that's a good thing.

Okay, I feel a bit better now being able to put that into perspective for myself.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@Former-Member, I struggle to get myself into the shower fairly regularly, for various reasons, some physical, some psychological. So I usually dress first anyway, have a basin wash and freshen up so I feel like I've at least started the day.

It's been a better day here so far, by my standards. Breaking it down into the small units I need to be able to do things:

  • got up, had breakfast, meds
  • turned on music (for mood and motivation)
  • dressed before midday
  • thorough basin wash after that and did hair
  • changed sheet on bed and changed pillowcases
  • loaded up the dishwasher and did them
  • thorough clean of the kitchen benches
  • cleaned toilet and gave the vanity a wipe where it needed it
  • wiped down coffee table and outdoor table
  • made tuna sandwich for lunch and ate
  • in between times: computing, including some video work
  • also made a couple of phone calls on my list of things to do today.

Now I'm contemplating unpacking my suitcase from my trip away (it's only been sitting there a week, lol), doing the washing, and the vacuuming. Not sure I'll get all or any of it done before my friend arrives sometime this afternoon to later stay the night. But I'll give it a go.

Best to all with getting some things done today.

And @All

I hope you are all as well as can be. My thoughts and prayers will be with you over the easter break. I hope you find peace and contentment. Please stay well and look after yourselves. Do what needs to be done. Do whatever is within your power to do. Treat yourself if need be.

Thank you all for the unconditional support... I'm reflecting back on what it meant and how It has helped. And how selfless it was of all of you too give...

A prayer that may help...

May I have health, may I have happiness, may I live my life in safety, may I live my life in ease.

May you have health, may you have happiness, may you live your life in safety, may you live your life with ease.

May we have health, may we have happiness, may we live our lives in safety, may we lives our life with ease.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Gosh, well done @Mazarita

I need to remember to write up the small things that I do by rote, because as my flat mate says, 'you've done a day's housework before I even get up and then you say you've done nothing if there's one thing left on your list not done.'.

Um yeah ... that's me. I'm getting better than I used to be though.

@eudemonism thank you for your kind and generous thoughts and words, they, and you, are appreciated.

My beliefs are different but I recognise yours and thank you for your kindness and wish you every good thing you could wish for yourself.

Okay, off to shower before lunch now.
