Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Note* Ive just started this thread again so it will be visible. Once I deleted my account it no longer shows up.

please join in again if and when needed.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Thanks @Teej ................. 💜💐

Have been thinking about what I need to do to make this place feel like a home. I think bookshelves are in order to start with. Haven’t got a garden (at all ☹️) so going to have to get a bit creative with plant-like something or other ..... and I have decided I need a cat ...,,, hubby won’t have one and we can’t leave one here to travel back there, so it’s going to have to be a lifelike you cat ...... I want everyone to know how much Inreally want a cat and can’t have one !! (That, and building a stone hearth, but that ain’t gonna happen either ..... )

I’m wondering @Faith-and-Hope if you could find a way of looking after and animal as a volunteer thing for people who need respite (lots of elderly people who go in to hospital but have no one to look after their pets) just a thought that you could have a part time real life pet. The volunteer coordinator at my council told me they have a program they do for this.....at least I think it was her. Some you look after in their house, feed it and cuddle it etc and some I think you take to look after. Don’t quote me on this but I remember thinking it’s a great program.

That’s a lovely thought @Teej .....

I have a new sister-in-law who does volunteer work for RSPCA ..... she had a couple of kittens there last week, along with her own cat ..... so sat and had cuddles there.

I will look up what we might be able to do here .

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi @Faith-and-Hope, @Teej, @eudemonism, @frog, @eth, @Former-Member and anyone reading,

Mixed bag today. Less tired than usual in the morning. Then took a gut medication for the first time, almost threw up from how foul it was, and then felt horribly bloated and nauseous all day, and even now still feeling sick. Couldn't eat breakfast for four hours after taking that medication. Won't be taking it again.

Nonetheless I got a few things done:

  • change bedding, wash and hang out used bedding (it's been a while!)
  • organise over the phone to pay someone to sew up the jumper I have knitted for C (I'm good at knitting, bad at sewing up)
  • meditation (fell asleep again but that's okay)
  • went to a poetry night to meet up with new friend and creative collaborator (came home early cos unwell).

That's it for today. It seemed like a lot given how unwell I've felt. Mood has been mostly okay but I did get restless and bored this afternoon.

Hope the rest of the evening treats everyone well. ox

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@Mazarita and @Teej

it's good to know someone is reading and replying. Each day is a challenge and I'm only getting the bare basics done. Doing a lot of lazing around, resting and sleeping. It's really frustrating and I'm tempted to tell the doctor. You might as well give me something that knocks me out completely and we'll call the case closed.

I cannot deny that I have extremely violent thoughts toward people from the system for blame I place on the system and them as individuals. For myself ending up in this position. Where I'm more or less thinking I'd be better off dead for a large percentage of the time.

Medication takes away any potential for a better life and destroys everything that is enjoyable for myself. My life is pretty much done and dusted with. I have nothing enjoyable to live for and no real meaning or purpose that is positive. Not anymore.

Eude.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi @eudemonism, sounds like you have had a particularly rough day with the dark thoughts and feelings. I hear how despairing you feel, and am sorry for it. In some ways, from the little I know you, it seems there are a number of things that are worth valuing in your life: friends, beach, nature, a place to live and enough to eat. What is it that you are most lacking, I wonder. Is it possible for you to find any kind of contentment in small things? One small thing leads to another, and another, and they add up, if we give them a chance. What was the life you were hoping for, that leaves you so dark about where you are now? You don't have to answer. Just looking for something to say that might help with finding your way out of the dark.

I’m listening @eudemonism .....

I agree with what @Mazarita is saying, and don’t have anything to add at this time, but I wanted you to know that I hear you and care about how you feel.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi @eudemonism glad to see you are still here and that people (good friends of mine by now) are supporting you in this challenging time. I also agree with @Mazarita's words. Sometimes it's not one day at a time it's one hour at a time - finding little things that make you feel better for a moment like a warm drink sitting outside in the sun - whatever works for you. Hoping that the support here is helpful too.

Good morning @Teej @Faith-and-Hope @Mazarita @frog

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi and good morning @eth @Mazarita @Faith-and-Hope @Teej @frog @Former-Member & whoever reads...My last post was perhaps a bit negative, depressing and sinister. But there is some truth behind it. And in my eyes. For justified reasons... Thanks for your input... I'm making slight changes and keeping a goal driven book of notes and thoughts which I'm wanting to act on. Which I believe are helpful and I am going to show the psychologist and psychiatrists and nurses so they get a better understanding of what's going on. Eude. I takes an element of security, Confidence and motivation. Too make the right moves for ones self. When the time is right.
