Just tell the family members -
You have talked things over with your pop but he is not ready to take on the appointments he needs to have to get the things fixed that he is complaining about ....
Or -
Tell them he is becoming forgetful, so you have talked about the issues and the appointments are in the pipeline, but he keeps forgetting and having all the same conversations over again with people, so you are just keeping quiet about it, but getting done what needs to happen in the background without upsetting him.
With your Mum, if you are happy enough to support her by taking care of th e kids, unpaid, as much as you do, that is entirely up to you @outlander ..... and it will likely make you and your sisters very close in the long term, because you have been a lot like a mother to them as well as a sister.

That’s where it’s not fair to you @outlander ..... but sometimes it takes changing things by degrees rather than upturning the whole applecart.

i think there has been a little bit of change at least @Faith-and-Hope when mum or her bf arent at work i dont have the kids so where i was constantly being a mum even when mum was around i get a day or 2 a week for myself or even and afternoon or 2 which is better than nothing. the weeks are a little hard as mums work can be unpredicable but he day or 2 away does make that difference

You may have helped your Mum settle more by the way you are managing @outlander .....
I am guessing that her life and circumstances have been traumatic in their own way, and the more things stabilise and the people in the middle of it stabilise and heal, the more ongoing stability and healing there is for everybody.
The kids will grow up. Things change ..... that’s the nature of life .....
