Hello my beautiful cyber-grandgirl Claire
@outlander ![]()
I absolutely excuse you for not making the best sense . . . though you absolutely did!
I don't think it's hard for a Doctor to be upsetting & frustrating when it causes anxiety & stress just going to see them. I know that well. They're just people that's true, but they are people in a position of great power over your life; they could save it or they could destroy it . . . & they do both. Particularly in cases of neuro-biological disorders - because they all but admit, they don't know what they're doing.
I can understand you feeling like you have to choose what hurts more & I wonder whether that's what your doctor's doing. Have to hop on my soap-box for a moment; you know I hate the term 'Mental Illness' because I believe it takes all the physical out of it. I guess the term is referring to a brain illness, but I know that's not what it is generally taken for. The general population, including many doctors, take it as a lying good for nothing, making up a load of bull-de-dash! But maybe your doctor is trying to compromise a very complication set of physical ailments?
Right now your desperation is the lack of sleep, your body is unable to regenerate properly as it needs sleep to do so. Perhaps your doctor is actually listening, can actually see that sleep is the most detrimental physical ailment at the moment. If you did have to choose between being slimmer or sleeping - which would it be? I know the extra weight is harmful for your existing problems, like your feet - but I think the lack of sleep is harmful for your entirety!
I would have to say I think it's worth trying the lower doses. Even if just as a temporary measure, to avert the emergency of sleep deprivation. Have you asked why she won't refer you to a sleep specialist? I have no idea, though I can't see any harm in doing so - in fact, even if there was no obvious benefit, I could see it helping a patient trust their doctor.
The restless leg thing Claire, could it have something to do with your existing condition {Scoliosis, don't know how to spell it}. Could that possibly be why she's taking other tests that aren't associated with your stomach? I was told exactly the same thing about the nausea, if there was an existing cause, it would exasperate & I would be vomiting. There is an existing cause, it's neuro-biological; they don't understand it so they deny it, or just feebly mention it . . . & do nothing, because they know nothing, to help.
Bit of anger coming out there hey, not very helpful - except maybe it shows I do understand a little . . . & I care ❤️
Love to you Claire![]()
