Re: rough time

thanks @Snowie ive just logged onto the compter so will do a better search now. i just finshed another 2 pages into my book. another 2 different coping strategies. done 6 pages now and done my homework for the psych with listing easier to harder triggers.

i guess we cant always achieve our goals but we can keep working on them..

Re: rough time

@Former-Member - while I don't like disagreeing with anyone, I would heed a caution with antihistamines. Everyone has different reactions to them, but they can have such side effects as delusions, dry mouth, urinary retention. And you can develop tolerance to them quite quickly, meaning that you need more if it to work. I know this not necessarily because I'm a nurse, but I have used them before. If you want to use them @outlander they should only be used very short term

Re: rough time

hello @Former-Member thank you

limit more caffine- im not sure what else i can limit... i dont have any of those fizzy drinks like coke, i dont drink coffee. i know cups of tea have caffine in them but its not suppose to be too much but maybe i could limit them more to breakfast and dinner rather than through the day too...

i havent tried the 2 you have meantioned as i usually just go off scripts. i havent tried anti-histamines the ones i have are non drowsy but dont usually need them unless its spring or high pollen count.

i think i was on something like ensure before when i was having this trouble so will take a look into again. i need to go to the chemist later on so can take a look then and buy one or 2 flavours to try out.

i hadnt thought of a vibratey massage pad for sleep- they arent very dear so could invest into one of those too

Re: rough time

@Sans911sounds like your being very productive today!

thank you for the meds suggestion (and the caution as well) im only on one medication now and its taken in the morning. its only the mood stabiliser and doesnt have any drowsy effects on me. i dont have any nightly meds for sleep or anything else. ive got no routine ot structure really in my day, im ok with having one or not having one- it more bothers me when i get bored and doing the same things become repetitive not so much the structure in my day- more like having something to actually do at some point.

ill still create a sleep/wake routine though at least itll be right there in front of me reminding me.. and will try hard to stick to it to have some sort of routine- it might reset my body clock abit

i ordered a diffuser so waiitng on it to come in stock- they said sometime next week it should be in but couldnt remember the oils you said to use besides lavender was going to ask when it come in but your already a step ahead of me so will get some chamomile too. there is one and its got a pre-mix of 3 kinds but cant remember the other one- will i need anything else to put in it besides the oils and water?

and thanks for the tip about reading- ill see if i can find a book alittle less stimulating to the ones ive got atm

Hi @outlander @Former-Member

I have given up caffiene since 31/12 and I am feeling much better. I am engoying decaf coffee which is surprisingly okay flavour and gave me a morning pick me up.

Re: rough time

With diffusers you only need the oil and water & 3 drops of each oil is usually sufficient. If your diffuser doesn't have a switch off timer or switches off when the water is low, you will need to keep an eye on it as it runs out, there is a potential risk of fire.

It will take some time for your sleep hygiene routine to work, so don't get upset if you have a few setbacks. Just try again the next night. You'll get there eventually
