I think @Bunniekins is right in saying the feeling of guilt can come from caring. Guilt is so tricky. Sometimes it motivates us to do better but other times it ties us up in knots.
@ethHope your day is good.
@Former-MemberGo easier on yourself, guiltwise. You are doing your best in a tought situation.
One of my worst times with animals was when my sister gave a baby rabbit to my daughter when I was almost crippled with neck pain. Sister enjoyed the big splashy fun birthday gift, but in the end it got myxo ... and had to be put down. I blamed myself for that for a long time. I wish she would have asked me if it was alright to give it ... I could not possibly take on more ... we had a cat and a dog anyway.

Thanks for tagging me here @Bunniekins and @Appleblossom. Hope you are having good days too.
Mine is very quiet, got my dishes done and floor swept and outside area tidied up but that's about all. Have been snoozing and reading since then.
Will follow along here for a while and probably join in once I've got a sense of what people are talking about here.

Hi @Appleblossom had the exact same experience with a gifted rabbit to my child also. My sister said it could be housetrained ........ it was vicious, we couldn't even touch it! One day I was looking out my kitchen window and saw rabbit "Miss Milkshake" just roll over and die. So my child said we had to have 2 cats after that, just in case one died.
Hungarian goulash sounds great. If you can be bothered I'd love the recipe.

Did you always have 2 cats then?
The zoo keepers are good at reminding me of the darker side of animal natures when I get too soft and fluffly about them.
I chose to have 2 kittens from same litter, my son insisted that we not replace the one who died recently, but just keep the surviving one as long as he lasts...
I dont have a proper recipe ... a throw it togetherbasic ingredients and gravy beef in the slow cook ...that will be for tomorrow now.
Lamb and couscous tonight ... changed me mind .. forgot to get the sour cream.![]()
