Re: rough time

Sounds like a lot on your plate. I hope the movie is providing some good distraction and that you get some time for your own self care soon...

Re: rough time

HUgs hun @outlander a movie sounds good. Perhaps try that exercsie Sans suggested where you try grounding but you are not concentrating on your breath. I can't remember exactly how it went, you might, but it might be worth a try.

Re: rough time

Urge surfing @Snowie?

Being asked to describe how and where i sh and also to talk of my suicide attempts, awkward silences and her confusing me isnt helping, traumas ive had ( didnt meantion sa or the family conflicts) and being told that i should live under my mh labels as they do define me but then saying you dont have to. Then she said well you only have 9 sessions and then your on your own uless you were through private health insurance, and also said that she can help me if thats what i want but each session will be basically run by me and what i want to talk about and doesnt really want to talk about the weeks that im not there but only thr few days leading up to and the day of the appt. She also said that because i have a job i cant be doing too badly and that i should do more and enrol is the studies i want to do right now rather than wait. Told her that i babysit as well and she said thats good.
All in 45 min. Time varies between 40-50 minutes.

Re: rough time

Oh and she read the psych letter and is communicating with both the psychiatrist and my gp.
And she done an assessment as well similar to mhcp but longer and more questions.

Oh and when she said that i should live under labels she also said that i shouldnt let thr symptoms stop me? Im confused

Re: rough time

Hmmm, understand why you're feeling confused @outlander! Though rapport and flow can take time to build. I guess it depends on how bad the session made you feel as to whether you feeling willing to give it a few more chances. Sometimes direct feedback about what you found confusing or uncomfortable can help to put things on a better path too.

Re: rough time

@outlander, yeah I think that was the one.

Woah, that is alot for the first session hun. I agree that the sessions should be run by you in the fact that you determine what you do and don't talk about. Not sure about the rest however.

You need to go with your gut instinct. If you feel that going back to her would be beneficial than do so, if not then don't. Remember this is your life so you have a say in what mh people are in it and who is not. You have the control, just like you have the control of what you do and don't say.
