Re: rough time

Oh gee @outlander@Sans911@Former-Member@Former-Member

I read back a couple of pages - do you guys feel as if you are facing the police when you are questioned about your MH?

It sounds scary - It's been a long time since I saw a psychiatrist and I think the system has changed since then - but the public system is stretched to Bandaide-Effectiveness and it costs so much to see a psychologist even with the medicare plan

Anway - I saw two psychologists since Mum died and both moved interstate but I think now that I gave in too easily when the suggested to me that it made no sense to worry about the way my mother and my sister behave and how it hurts - the one I am seeing now is VERY interested and like man - the stuff I had forced down was still there - it feels so much better to have let it out

Ummmmmmmmmm - this is me thinking for a while

Whether they are in psychotherapy for the money or not - everyone needs to be paid - it is very much up to us to make our point that this or that event has made a mark - and to stick by it even if we have to find a more understanding person - I am not a spring chicken but I got caught in something other people didn't want to discuss - perhaps it was something they couldn't help with

We have to be our own advocates - all the best with a different psychiatrist Outlander - it's very hard work

Re: rough time

@outlander - I'm sorry hun, I'm a little stuck how to help. Perhaps go back to the grounding or listen to a meditation app.

Re: rough time

Thats ok i hate night times as its so limiting @Sans911 ive written that one down in my phone notes to try out though. Is there any more steps to that one? The drawing one?

Re: rough time

@Owlunar - I so agree with being our own advocates. Unfortunately with that comes many difficulties and judgements of being difficult and creating trouble. I reported a mh worker for inappropriate and potentially damaging comments, however, because I reported it to a fellow colleague and my pdoc in the same facility, no one would say anything to her. I was absolutely furious, and it has happened again in another facility. So you get nowhere a lot of the time, and you loose faith that any clinical really gives two hoots about you.

Re: rough time

@Owlunar ive always got to be careful what i say esp with long term sh/si thoughts they are always on the lookout to throw me into a hospital. I see a new psychologist on thursday so hoping it goes well and can continue with her.

Hi @Appleblossom good to see you and thanks

Re: rough time

Well done with your book @outlander. I have been meaning to ask how it's going.

The drawing one doesn't have any more steps. The idea is just to express the emotion immediately and let it out. That's why you don't think too much about what you are drawing. You just do it.

Hello @Appleblossom. I've not seen you around for a while
