Re: rough time

@outlander - you've done really, really well lil Sis. 💜 💙 I left you alone for a bit because it's important you learnt to listen to your body without distractions so you recognise what these states are. It sounds a little like you might have gone into a panic & hyperventilated. When you do that, it does get harder to breathe as you are using up your oxygen levels and building up carbon dioxide. You can have panic attacks even when things seem to be calm. I think sometimes you are always in a state of hypervigilance, that is, always on the lookout for danger and threats. That can really mess your stress hormones up, and cause panic attacks. What I was getting you to do was grounding. Getting you in touch with your surroundings and the sensations in your body. If we try to force ourselves to slow our breathing down it doesn't always work because your minds in overdrive and your oxygen stores are shrinking. When we focus on our surroundings and ourselves, we just notice what is happening, noting our sensations and that can often help to slow things down. And yes, it will be tiring, but that's ok too. Time to rest now my angel
