Re: rough time

No not at all. @Former-Member I actually get along with my mums partner a lot. She is fantastic. At the beginning it was a shock. And the fact that it was my boss just made it worse. I quit my job because of it. Just couldn't work there knowing what was going on. I didn't speak to my mum for 2 years.
it was the best job I ever had. I absolutely loved it. I was the supervisor and had been working there for around 5 years before she started working there and within a few months she was seeing my mum. I regret leaving but I just couldn't stay.

I will let you know promise only if you let me know as well. Right now I am enjoying your company and don't want to go anywhere.

Re: rough time

Unfortunately Bear was that way when we where 14. My stepmother and dad had just sent us for the June/July school holidays in central QLD with her parents. Nan asked me if I wanted to stay an extra week and I was like hell yes. On the Friday of the extra week I was on the school bus with her (she was the driver) and saying goodbye to the kids cause I would be going home that weekend when she said wouldn't you like to stay here? I thought she was joking but nope they left me out there. I had a 2 baby stepbrothers that I didn't get to say a goodbye to but I thought I was only going tforntwo weeks so it didn't matter I thought. But I was gone till Christmas, didn't get to give my dad a proper hug goodbye or anything, his his birthday which is only 7 days before mine. It was planned by my stepmother all along. Feeling like I had been abandoned, it didn't take long for me to fall prey to the release of alcohol, then Bear discovered that the truckies (I know not all truck drivers are like this) didn't mind a bit of young one and the drinker the better. I think I have told you that Bear seeks out punishment and boy did she find it when we where 14. Even now when we pull into a servo that has a truck stop most of us shrink, but Bears grins and wishes for all of that again.

Sorry @Lee82 That got heavy 💜💜

Re: rough time

While I am sorry you felt so bad you had to quit your job, I am very happy you like her. That could have made it so much more difficult for you. If you don't mind me asking what was it that you where doing. @Lee82 💜💖

Re: rough time

Oh babe that's terrible of your stepmother. Of course she was acting out. Poor Izzy. To be tricked like that would have definitely brought out some anger and obviously a rebellious streak.
no real direction given or real parenting is going to send you on the path of destruction. I am so so sorry to hear you went through that.

Re: rough time

Oh of course not babe. I am a barista. I started when I was 16 as job when I was still at school. I worked at Hudsons coffee at the airport. I worked there till I was 22 and then left to get another barista job at the airport. I began studying architecture at uni but had to leave it because of mum and her selfish ways. And since then I have always worked in cafes and restaurants. Was never able to get back to uni cause I had to support my brother who is 4 years younger than me and was an apprentice at the time. We had to leave home and fend for ourselves so I quit uni so my brother could work towards getting himself a good job.
sorry I know you didn't ask for my whole life story. Just got carried away.

Re: rough time

Looking back all the signs where there but I just didn't see them. I guess why would you be looking for the reason your mum and dad would be getting ready to abandon you at 14. This is why we are so hard on ourselves about what kind of person we are, because surely only parents of a kid that was so bad, so terribly unlovable amd unworthy of any real affection would dump a 14 year in the bush. Sorry again @Lee82

Re: rough time

Honey, that is a reflection on what type of parents they were not what type of child you were. I mean you were 14 for goodness sakes.
You WERE and still ARE worthy of love and affection.
A parent should love their children Uncondtionally.
