rough time

The past few weeks i struggle to be at home. I dont know why but even just being around him makes me nervous esp when he comes and slumps on the lounge but doesnt say anything. Its like the calm before the storm. Not sure if that makes sense though?

Yes, I'm hearing you lil Sis @outlander. It sounds exhausting. Have you had any progress with getting extra help in at least for some of the practical stuff? Or does he resist that too? You had some appointments a while ago about getting him assessed didn't you?

I don't have any advice to give you but know I'm hearing your frustrations. It's incredibly hard for anyone to look after someone with dementia.

I had an appt with a worker around here but they cant really help in many ways except putting me on the right track. Ive spoken with myagedcare who asked me to fill in papers and then sens it to them. I done that a while ago but havent heard anything so i think ill chase that up soon, just have to get through a few appts first. So atm im sitting on my hands as i cant do anything till my aged care do their assessments to see what he qualifies for @Sans911
Unfortunately as he is still ok enough to drive on some occassions and can get hinself breakfast and isnt incontinent ive been told he may not be able to access much atm. Theres a chance he may be able to access some social groups mostly for men however that is often something the carer has to attend to so while its good for him its still not a break for me. Hopefully there may be other arrangements avaliable though..
