Re: rough time
@Former-Member i like the idea of creating a booklet. Its easy to read and refer to anywhere really. I can have it at home for better organisation and in the car in case im out shopping ( for when i get back to the car to calm down) etc. And the apps too but not sure which ones to add besides my games and the safety plan....
@Sans911 i love that idea of your book! Creating that in itself would be helpful! Is that one for self soothing or all your strategies? I think adding that extra personal stuff makes it alot more special and soothing as itll have the texture and smells too.

Re: rough time
@outlander - the book is essentially self soothing but it involves the use of other skills or strategies like grounding (use of the 5 senses such sight, touch), distraction, improving the moment and doing things that bring you joy. My project is taking some time because it's so personal, so it has a much greater impact on me.
You could add in yours poems, drawings, crosswords, material from where you live like hay. The sky's the limit hun.
When I'm driving, if I'm a little irritated, I have cds I really like that I crank up the volume, tap my feet and the steering wheel and sing along, despite my crap singing voice. I can so totally see you laughing at this image, despite you not knowing what I look like, but it works really well for me as I immerse myself completely and forget about what I was irritated by.
I'll come up with more stuff soon
