Re: rough time

Evening lil Sis @outlander. I'm away from home in a small town a few hours out of the city. I'm staying in a lovely rented house with my foster sister & mother, her husband and her husband's sister. The wedding of my foster sister's daughter is tommorow afternoon. I arrived here about midday after being picked up this morning. It's been a pleasant day spent with lovely people. I'm still in a lot of pain and feeling low. But it's nice to be with people that want you around.

Sounds like you have achieved quite a lot recently. Well done. And I'm glad you've prioritised some more 'me' time.

Very much missing @Snowie too. I'm so hoping she's taking care of herself.

That sounds like a lovely and welcoming place to be @Sans911

Yeah ive gotten through a lot lately, being busy has helped I think. I haven't been as busy today and has brought up too many emotions so just coping with those.
How long will you be staying at the rented house with family?

Re: rough time

Would anyone have any tips on coping with nightmares?
Lately the nightmares are really graphic and some are those ones you can feel . usually when i wake up and just go get a drink and then come back to bed its ok but lately as soon as i shut my eyes either its the same dream or a new one starting.

Re: rough time

Hi @outlander (stranger), nightmares can cause much distress. I find unprocesses or unresolved events of the day, or last couple a days, sometimes surfaces in dreams, when we're relaxed... seems that's the only time our subconscious can get our attention.
Anyway,
A bedtime ritual often helps me wind down.
- JOURNALLING helps my brain tidy up a messy day. First I summarise in point form what happened today... Then, if anything needs more attention I give it a paragraph or two on it.
- MOVIE... maybe a real good 'feel good' favourite movie could help to calm the mind, distract, evoke nice feelings...
- Fill the mind with good happy, peaceful thoughts.
- BOOK that's captivating
- PRAYER... just tell God everything, and evoke the power of the cross over your life.
- LIFELINE phone call...
Talk it out

Sometimes I can control what is happening in them. But usually I have to put up with it.
Idk what helps people so if be interested in finding out more too.
