I am okay with what was said @Former-Member
Evereyone is entitled to their point of view - and to express it - from what I gather it's okay except @MDT - you are welcome to contribute wherever you feel you have something to say
No hard feelings

Hi @outlander
That is so much responsibility placed upon one person - but as you say - you have grown up with that identity and that seems to be your role - time does pass and maybe that is your career in the caring professions and you are well qualified to start formal studies if that's what you want to do
But I would understand if you didn't.
I do remember you saying once that when you were a small child you felt it was your job to make sure everyone was all right - which seems a little sad to me that a little child would have that role - I have thought about that often since and maybe it was a case that your own position was insecure with the changing events in your family and your mother's rather different personality - it was a shaky start in life
My mother was so afraid of everything - she had reason to be but never growing out of it was her problem - not mine - however at 3 yo I was already aware that there were things our mother could not protect us from. This is always true of course but to be aware at 3 was a bit early I think - and like you I took care of my younger siblings and one at a time that was hard - both at once was a nightmare - I know you have had that and - yeah yeah yeah - parents keep on having children a lot of the time and what does the first one do to earn the role of looking after them - I so get that but I was out of home when I was your age - I did escape
Endometriosis is such a painful disorder - I will be glad to know when you have had your operation about that - and investigations too - pcos would be polycystic ovarian syndrome I think - my daughter went through all of this last year - she is fine now but it was a drain. I am glad you have those two rooms booked - hiring a nurse or someone for the night sounds like a good idea - your Mum can come through for you if she's in the mood I think but - nuf sed - a nurse at least is being paid to be kind to you -
You would think they would keep you in hospital overnight when you have to stay in a hotel - they can't get people out of hospital soon enough now - my son-in-law only had a week after a triple-by-pass - and that's in the private system - I was lucky to get one night when I had knee surgery but that was because of my age (I'm not quite over-the-hill yet but I accepted that one) and also - I live alone
Your Pop is a huge responsibility and if your mother was useful it would be her task and not yours - you have that caring role in your nature and she doesn't - seems to me as if you got the whole share for everyone but I do understand - what would you do without carrying this out - and yes - the things old people can do can seem funny - but I didn't find my mother funny at all - she was very unhappy after Dad died and lost her marbles or dropped her bundle or whatever -
Do you get any help from My Aged Care for you Pop? As far as I can people are battling from the underfunded issue but I could be wrong - it's confusing
I wish you the best with all of this - you have drawn the short-straw with so many issues - I am sure you are the far better person a lot of the time but it's hard for you - very hard -
