Hi @MDT
Today I am feeling okay emotionally after a bad week last week but I am tired from it and for whatever reason - my back is really acting up right now - which is making it hard to do normal tasks without snapping at myself because I drop things
But in myself - because this is normal for me - I am okay
Thanks Hamsolo - how are you today
Dec

Not sure if you looked at the Chinese The Nightingale movie or would think about it. @outlander

It is very picturesque and scenic. 20 years ago, I had dinner with a lady who was trying to stop the bulldozing of old chinese villages and castles. Now I am amazed at the beautiful old buildings and huge twisted trees and village wells. Soothing music helps.
It also is a beauitful story about a little girl and an old man. Totally different culture and personalities but made me think about your pop. It is also about the old and the new ... and humanises "progress" ... a big deal in China.... a bit of a fairy tale maybe ...

Hello there @outlander with waves to @Appleblossom @Owlunar @Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51 and others.
Oh @MDT .. what you say about physical pain being nothing compared to mental pain ... its clearly said by someone who does not experience extreme or chronic pain. I'm glad you dont btw, you are lucky. But in my own personal experience physical pain, such as what Dec lives with every single day, is completely debilitating. It definitely increases any existing mental anguish and/or mental health disorders. To live with moderate to severe pain every day of your life, and the prospect of that continuing for the rest of your life ... adds immensely to mental pain. Physical pain FEEDS any existing mental pain, and vice versa. Physical pain (especially chronic long term pain) in a great many cases CAUSES mental illness, including depression and anxiety, in people who otherwise do not have any MI's. Physical pain is a great deal more than 'a nuisance'. I dont mean to be lecturing ... but your comment that severe chronic pain is 'a nuisance' really struck a nerve. So to speak.
@MDT Good to hear you are going okay currently, and also that you are interested in becoming a Guide in future. I wish you luck with that, I admire how you offer caring support to many people here on the forums. I admire your determination and persistance in your continued search for work. That in itself can be a demoralising experience. Well done for keeping your chin up, and keeping on trying.
Sherry 😊🌹

Anyone whose had both physical pain and mental/emotional pain @MDT will likely tell you that they are equally bad.
For me, anxiety (I have ptsd, which essentially means I live in a state of anxiety most of the time) makes my physical injury and therefore pain much worse. Perhaps due to tension, which comes along with anxiety for many. Increased physical pain then often leads to bouts of depression. A merry-go-round.
Basically, both are very closely related. Often physical pain, or at least the cause of it, is visible. Where as mental or emotional pain can be hidden and very internalised The one major difference between the two. I hope this makes sense @MDT ?
Sorry for hogging your space here @outlander 😀
