We had aome rain over a few days last week but not enough. We have some forecast for thursday and friday which would be good. Hopefully itll go into the catchment areas this time. We are on tough water restrictions here for the first time in quite a while cause the rain keeps missing the catchments. Fingers crossed we get a good down pour soon!

Its just something my mother said to me. Im she she didnt mesn anything by it but its been sitting with me most of the day. When i was talking to her about taking the kids somewhere i said my friend works there and ive hears good reviews on them and her reaction was 'you have a friend? I didnt know you knew how to keep them' i ended up clareifying it was just someone i know through the horses .
It wasnt really the reaction i was expecting and it threw me off a little bit. The conversation was closed off. More of a statement instead of a query. Its quite uncomfortable to be sitting with really and even though im sure she didnt mean anything by it but in having trouble letting those thoughts go...

That seems like a pretty harsh and invalidating thing to say lil Sis. Whether she meant it or not. I'm not surprised you're feeling uncomfortable. It must hurt you a lot.
Has your mother ever said good things about you? Has she ever been proud of you? Is there anyone in your family that treats you kindly?
I'm sure you love your family, but this is not how families treat each other.

Any tips on how to let that kind of comment go? Its pretty uncomfortable to sit with. Ive tried to brush it off but it doesnt seem to be going very far

Your mother's statement says more about her and insecurities she has. There's something about you she fears. Perhaps it your strength and resilience. You have something that your mother doesn't & she is afraid of that.

And sometimes when it comes to the people we are supposed to love we have to accept them imperfections and all. It doesn't mean we like their bad behaviour that they display at times, but we accept they are in our lives regardless.
It's like my own mother. She's very self centred at times, which I barely tolerate. But I accept she is my mother regardless and I love her with all her imperfections.

That it true @Sans911 i do love them even though we have challanges constantly are are quite different. Im abit of the outcast in the family. Bit like clash of the titains or something moat of the time.
