CRY FOR HELP version 2

CRY FOR HELP version 2

As my last post must have been deleted...

I tried to end my life last year.
I won't say how cause apartely that's not allowed.

I am getting some help but have to wait to February 5th to see clinical phycologist.

I also won't say what I think I should be diagnosed with cause that's probably not allowed also...

I am a male and am 31 but won't say more details about myself cause that's not allowed...

I hope this doesn't get deleted also cause I was of the understanding that we want people to get help.

Hi @thunderclap,

Welcome to the forums!

Thank you for posting and sorry to hear you are going through a tough time.

Im glad you have an appointment book with the psychologist but sorry to hear you have a bit of a wait...

What actions or supports do you think can help you to stay safe in the meantime?

Im wondering if any of our senior forum members like @Pheonix21 @Bunniekins @CheerBear any thoughts?

Take care,

Rooney10

Re: CRY FOR HELP version 2

Staying safe is hard...

It's a daily struggle it's very hard to verbalise all that is going on in my head.

And as none of my family or friends have a mental illness they just don't get it and can't really help me.

I appreciate SANE and am very glad that there is a place were those who are suffering from undiagnosed mental illness can get support

@thunderclap Hi thunderclap dont worry about posts being deleted it happens to me all the time lol ... I am sorry that you are feeling so down. It is hard to wait to see a specialist (I am hanging on by the finger nails to see mine again).

Harder even when friends and family dont get it ... at least here you will find people that understand. I am sitting here at my keyboard with a hour or so if you wanted to talk about your worries with me I am here. greenpea

Re: CRY FOR HELP version 2

Hi @thunderclap and welcome to the forum.

Looks like you might have had a bit of a tricky start to posting here. I think it's really awesome that you tried again and made a version 2 post.
Your psych appointment is still a little while away. I know for me that days can seem like weeks when I am struggling, so weeks can feel like forever.
Do you have any hobbies or interests that you enjoy doing to pass the time?
I also understand how it can feel hard to stay safe when you're having a particularly hard time. Sometimes I find it helpful to distract myself by chatting about other things. There's a section of the forum called "Social spaces" where you'll find lots of conversations about different topics happening that can provide great distractions if you'd like to join in.
There's also a section called "Looking after our wellbeing" thay may be helpful in terms of ideas to stay safe if you're interested. Threads like The coping box and this one here about coping strategies might be useful to check out.
It can also help me to read and share stories from people who have had similar experiences especially when people in my off-forum life don't seem to get it or understand. You can use the search bar to find topics that you might be interested in, or if you want to share a bit more here about what's happening for you at the moment maybe we can try to link you in with some other members who may be able to relate to what you're going through.
One tip is that if you'd like to reply to someone you can use the @ symbol in front of their name and they will be tagged.
Hope you find the forums helpful.

Re: CRY FOR HELP version 2

I am very glad that I joined the SANE forums I am already feeling supported by a community of people that gets what I am going through as it seems so many of you have gone through some very serious mental health issue and so SH scenarios.

It's actually better that you are all strangers it means I don't have to put on fake masks when I talk about mental illness and also I don't have to sugercoat too much.

Re: CRY FOR HELP version 2

Exactly @thunderclap.
No need for masks here, we will take and support you as you are and you'll never see us irl so you don't need to stress about it coming back to you etc.
"Hi" 👋 btw.

Re: CRY FOR HELP version 2

I have been struggling with what I believe to be BPD as I think that I have 7 of the 9 symptoms and you aprantly only need 5 of the 9 to be diagnosed with it...

Now I don't profess to be any kind of professional when it comes to mental health, but to the best of my knowledge these appear to be the 9 symptoms below...

Fear of abandonment
Unstable relationships
Unstable and unclear self image
Self destructive and impulsive behaviour
SH
Extreme emotional swings between sadness, anger & anxiety
Chronic feelings of emptiness or DP
Explosive anger
Feeling out of control of own body like an out of body experience on a regular basis

Now of the above 9 I reckon I have all except

I don't have the out of body experiences
I don't have a fear of abandonment

I have the other 7 though

Now as I mentioned I am in no way trained in any medical way so don't take my word for it , it's just what I believe I have,

Though keep in mind I haven't been diagnosed yet that should be starting that process when I have my 1 st appointment with the clinical phycologist in feb.

Re: CRY FOR HELP version 2

G'day @thunderclap. Good to see you reposted this thread.
I think most of us have an idea of what diagnosis we may receive before we even get to see a professional. I know I did.
This forum is such a support for me. I hope you find the same.
You can have a rant - ask a question - chat on a social thread - have dinner together in the virtual world with people that understand you.
I hope you manage to find ways of staying safe while you wait for your appointment.

Hello @thunderclap

I was wondering why a message came up that your previous post was unavailable.....

Welcome to the forums.

I hope you are safe tonight. I hope you will continue to post as the forums have been the only place I can tell it like it is when I'm having a bad day, or I can just sit and read other posts if I don't feel like sharing, and there has been so much support from wonderful and caring people....the folk here know what its like to be struggling with mental health illness. I agree, it can be difficult for those who have no experience of mental illness to get it, or be able to help.

Take care.
