Thought I would drum up a bit of a thread with some updates on the trip.

Full day 1 today. Had a quick dash of breakfast and got up to visit the Sky Tower in auckland. Apparently its higher than sydney tower. Only about 20 metres or so..

Good views of the city though. Gave me some ideas on what to do over the next week. Will be going to one of the islands as well as the bridge climb with dad.

I'm enjoying being overseas. I feel like a nobody and it gives me a sense of independence.

Had lunch under a pub in a big food court. Fish and chips lol. Typical NZ.

Auckland is pretty quiet. Lots of international cuisine too.

Hopefully some pics of kiwis to come soon.

I hope you have a good christmas tomorrow guys and i will be keen to hear how youve spent your day.

Ill be on in the arvo because i would've eaten too much for lunch (no breakfast for me).

@MDTthat is wonderful how you feel on your holidays, I imagined myself there reading your words, it brought back some memories of when I was younger on camping holidays and yes it does make me cry as well.Evening all.

There is nothing better @saturnzoon than getting lost in other people's words and stories and seeing the images in your head as you scan the words on the page............whenever I can I always have my nose stuck in a book lol...................

Oohhh not yet @MDT hoping it will still be at cinemas January 4th when mum comes down for 10days holidays and where stayingvat hotel then as mum likes star wars as well and not seen it, ive heard It's really good but some mixed reviews about ending, did you love it.

I am a MASSIVE Star Wars fan @saturnzoon

and yes LOVED the new movie.....it was epic

when it finished I started clapping and the rest of the audience joined in lol

I am the dark side though......love the baddies especially Darth Vader....he is my hero.....some of my friends call me Lady Vader....................

I love sci-fi as well......especially Dr Who and Torchwood.....not so much into Star Trek though
