@DownMoreThanUp I'm not a fan of Andrew Ripp but I like the sentiments of the song.

I've been listening to my man TMac as well as MercyMe and Zach Williams of late. I want to make some mix tapes (or in today's currency, SD cards!) for when I am driving.

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI The song has particular deep meaning for me, for it connects me to a time i had a major break through, as well as fall out, on the same day i heard that song. That is why it stuck. otherwise we are not that keen on him either.

@Appleblossom @heartathome @Realness @AuntGlow

i'm much more into Scriptural based songs, and in particular Scripture lived songs. Personally i find the majority of Gospels hollow at the core and near meaninglessly repetitive and to gain for self is the focus of worship not living Jesus in Spirit down here.

i mourn that!

For the Psalms give us a far better illustration of presenting whole truth, not to boost wealth but to support one another the great persecution down here. i have worked with enough troubled people to know this is poorly missing, although some do hear the call to love those unloved or hurting.

This is a song with lots of faith meaning, for it is based on a true life story, as well as easy going lyrics such captures the hearts of millions. For living faith is what matters, while money generating faith and all for self, i find no pleasure in, but at time experience as a deep sadness the the Good Gospel of salvation has fallen so low, as to cultivate the culprit in charge of our carnal lives down here.

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp it's a favourite movie of mine too. It was the last movie I saw at the cinema with ex friend.

I bought the DVD. The song, I Can Only Imagine is the most played Christian song of all time, and managed to cross over to mainstream music as well.

I Can Only Imagine 2 is the story behind MercyMe's song Even If, which is also a favourite of mine. It got me through many rough moments while I struggled with my Goddaughter, work situations and the deterioration of my relationship with ex friend.

📖 Mark 13:33
“Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.”
— Jesus Christ

🌿 What was happening:
Jesus was speaking privately to His disciples on the Mount of Olives, preparing them for uncertain times ahead. They were asking when things would happen, but instead of giving a timeline, He gently shifted their focus to how to live while waiting.

🔍 Greek meaning:
“Be on guard” (blepete) — to see clearly, to stay aware
“Be alert” (agrypneite) — to stay awake, to remain watchful
“Time” (kairos) — an appointed moment in God’s perfect timing

✨ Biblical summary:
This verse is a loving warning from Jesus. It’s not about fear, but about staying awake in our hearts—aware, connected, and anchored in Him.
Even when we don’t know what’s ahead, we are invited to stay close, to remain steady, and to trust that we are held in God’s perfect timing.

@ENKELI Just replying to your reply in movie recommendations.

You wrote;

"God is pretty clear - any practice that doesn't include Him is of the world. What you are saying about Moses and what people believe crystals can do are 2 completely different things.

God uses stones - you may have misread what I wrote. Anything that is not of God should not pass through the hands of a Christian. Crystals are used separate from God, that is the point I am making."

True, not arguing that, but there is a lot of difference to what and HOW God's Word says that, and how contemporary, often judgemental, always exclusive and sadly even prideful Christian religious thought says things. Personally i have been disgusted with how the Christian religion has historical excluded other truths from their truths without valid reasons just as true.

For example did you know that historically even washing oneself or seeing oneself naked, the steam train, cars and aeroplanes, the humble spud, as well as many plants, fruits and herbs, women's education, even skinnier than normal, or differently looking women, certain styles of music, and/or many other things created, or given by God, have been described as satanic or from satan by religious thought, and to be avoided, banned and even killed?

i suppose that is where i'm coming from, current Christian religion has conquered a lot believers with rigid ideas how and how not to serve God, or read the bible rightly. Please do understand that i'm not saying reading crystals is okay, or a trustworthy or noble thing to do, rather i'm keeping an open mind and see how such practises work for people in real life.

For in our wonderful 'black book' it is written - test ALL things, - which to mean means no forbidden subjects - as long as i hold onto what is His -- really true.

So rather than heeding believing religious instruction without checking out reality myself, i have given myself, as well as any believer the same freedom Paul does, and see for myself what shows up doing so.

@heartathome @Appleblossom @Realness @AuntGlow

i do know that some truths, legends, myths, i have learned to understand if not value, by just looking briefly, into American Indian, Buddhist, Mystical/gnostic, and Aboriginal spiritual thought, has already often been helpful spiritually to me. This does not mean i left my faith, or let such thought distort Scriptural truths, or add it to Scriptural truths , rather i heed Paul's instruction to take along anything praiseworthy or beautiful with me on my journey into Christ's everlasting.

Knowing His purifying flame will keep me more than save from contamination. (1 Cor 3:12-15)

Have a blessed day all.🤔

Re: Christian Chat

2 Corinthians 5:21
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Written by Paul to the church in Corinth, this verse sits within a message of reconciliation—how God restores relationship with us through Jesus.

In the original Greek, some of the key words carry a deeper sense:
“no sin” — ἁμαρτίαν (hamartian): missing the mark, falling short
“to be sin for us” — ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν (hyper hēmōn): on behalf of us, for our sake
“righteousness” — δικαιοσύνη (dikaiosynē): being made right, restored into right standing

The deeper meaning is often called the great exchange: Jesus, who knew no sin, took on what was ours—our brokenness, our falling short—so that we might receive what is His: right standing with God.💚

@DownMoreThanUp I'm not going to argue with you. I clarified what I meant and didn't need a response.

I think you have missed the point and it's pointless trying to explain any further.

Hope your week has you feeling better xo
