Re: Christian Chat

@Appleblossom "How the word is to be interpreted ... is a mystery for each of us to contemplate with respect to our own journeys."

So true!

@heartathome @ENKELI @Realness @tyme

Seven times in just two chapters The Word urges us to heed The Spirit, not what others say, but what the Spirits says. i love that!

This is the kernel of my faith when it comes to the Word of God.

Agreed @DownMoreThanUp

and then there is the challenge of discernment of the spirit

always wondering, praying, and in between doubt and confusion, grateful for moments of hope

Re: Christian Chat

@Appleblossom Do i relate with you on that one. It can be so hard! So many 'voices'

@heartathome @ENKELI @Realness @tyme
i found a kind of simply understanding to be the most correct one reading God's word. Check it for yourself.

If The Word talks in love for God/The Truth, as to me in love for me, and with the same love addresses my neighbour and Creation, i know The Spirit of God is 'revealing' truth to me reading the Word. Or when i live the word true. Like is see compassion, kindness or any other true and good thing living in me.

Yet when i feel accused, or forced to believe, or any other emotional force to make me read the word of God, i watch and learn to understand my enemy within, hiding behind making me do/feel/life this, usually hurting or confused self in me.

That is why i love God's word it is the most stabilising in my life of seeking stability in truth and meaning.

What are your experiences about this friends?

The Living Word Saves

Meeting Jesus in my deepest pit
brought an end to all my inner pain;
Through His love, the Living Word made fit
my heart to live and breathe again.

First, like a farmer, He pulled up my weeds,
turned the soil, laid every stone bare;
then gently sowed His life-giving seeds,
tending me with patient, fruitful care.

Yes, the Word’s voice in the Spirit of love
drew me near and held me there;
His life now dwelling from heaven above—
a living gift He longs to share.

So from your pit, rise up and come away;
let Him sow His life within your soul.
Find living truth in Him today—
your soul now living whole.

Me too @DownMoreThanUp ... I think the Word of The Spirit (God and Jesus) is always with love! God is love! (1 John 4: 😎

Yes, the Word’s voice in the Spirit of love
drew me near and held me there

God's agape love is selfless, sacrificial, enduring and unconditional and I love that! Thank goodness God's love doesn't fluctuate with circumstances or feelings! 💚

Re: Christian Chat

I went to church today for today's service @heartathome @DownMoreThanUp @Appleblossom @ENKELI @Realness .

The focus was on Nehemiah and the last days - many become lukewarm and forget the House of God.

Re: Christian Chat

Yes, I did too @tyme

It felt very differnt to last night, which was the way it was intended. We were told be the crowd in one reading. At the end we all left quietly.

Last night felt more intimate and caring. It is important for me to understand the meaning behind the ritual. It felt appropriate. Maybe its my way of understanding feelings, getting a sense of the social aspect of life and death.

I have had periods where I attended and periods I have not. That is my journey.

Hi friends how has your day been? i have had a pretty hard first hours of the day but got through it and found solid ground and even slept for an extra 2 hours in the afternoon on top of the near 6 during the night.

A poem i have been meditating on today Celebrating Easter

Truth Crucified in Me

Lord, now I see what lies have done:
not only clouded heart and mind,
but buried deep Your work in me,
till hardly any truth I’d find.

They called as darkness what was light,
and shame what You had called good.
False witness rose against my soul,
and truth in me was misunderstood.

Then I look up and see Your cross:
the Holy One despised, condemned;
the silent Lamb led out to die,
the Branch cut down, the Root contemned.

The faithful Witness lifted high,
the Living Word by falsehood slain;
and in Your death I see laid bare
what every lie in me is aiming at.

For lies do more than just deceive.
They move toward death. They crush and steal.
They war against the life of truth,
and strike the heart You mean to heal.

Yet You, Lord Jesus, entered there.
You bore our grief, our shame, our loss.
You were not driven from our death,
but met us in our death on the cross.

The grain of wheat fell to the ground.
You entered our night and tasted grave.
But there the Father kept His Word,
and raised the Life He came to save.

So now I know: what dies in You
is not destroyed when it is true.
What lies have buried, You will raise.
What death worked in, You will renew.

So if I die in You, O Living Word,
let only what is false be gone.
For blessed are those who die in Christ;
every night must flee before Your dawn.

Let all the lies that shaped my suffering days,
each borrowed name, each faithless fear,
be crucified within me with their works,
and lose their voice and power here.

And let the truth the lies buried deep,
the life from God lies cannot keep bound

i rise up again by Your Spirit-breath,
The truth alive within creating solid ground.

You will not condemn any wounded soul,
nor shame me where falsehood pressed down,
but free the life Your hand in me has formed,
and raise Your image from the ground.

For if I died with You, dear Lord Christ,
then let the old lie-life be utterly slain.
So when I rise again renewed in You,
the truth stands up and lives again in me.

Your cross declares what lies always do.
Yet Your rising breaks their final claim.
Your Spirit bears that witness in me now,
Your Voice calling me my truest name.

@Bunniekins Thanks sharing that insight. i do find that to be true in my life. For dark forces used to torment my mind but ever since Jesus took up residence there the voices have been losing ground big time.👍

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @tyme , @MissGremlin , @REDLINEZ750 , @Shaz51 ,

I Corinthians 2 (followed by I Corinthians 3)

- Paul speaks only Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

- Paul's preaching was not persuasive but was a demonstration of the Spirit's power - your faith is not based on human wisdom but on God's power.

- Yet among the spiritually mature we do impart wisdom.

- We speak God's hidden wisdom revealed to us by the Spirit, since the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

- We have received the Spirit who comes from God so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.

- Explaining spiritual things to spiritual people.

- The spiritual person, can evaluate everything, and yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone.

- We have the mind of Christ.

I Corinthians 3

- Paul could not speak to them as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, babes in Christ.

- You are still worldly.

- Since there is envy and strife among you, are you not worldly and behaving like mere humans? e.g. disputing over human leaders.

- God, who gives growth, is everything.

- We are God's coworkers. You are God's field, God's building.

- The foundation is Jesus Christ. No one can lay any other foundation.

- If anyone builds on this foundation - on the day of Christ fire will test the quality of each one's work.

- If anyone's work that he has built survives, he will receive a reward.

- If anyone's work is burned up, he will experience loss, but will themselves be saved.

- You are God's temple and the Spirit of God lives in you.

- God's temple is holy, and that is what you are.

- Let no one deceive themself. If anyone is wise in this age, let them become a fool so they can become wise.

- For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.

- So no boasting over human leaders.

- Everything is yours and you belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.

God's wisdom is not the world's wisdom. We are God's temple with God's Holy Spirit - we have the mind of Christ. So we should let go of earthly striving.
