Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp that thinking is wonderful in theory, for me not so much in practice.

I struggle with not being good enough for Jesus because I don't read the bible daily, haven't been to church in several years and don't share the word with anyone.

From what you've written, my father although he wasn't saved will get to heaven yet I am the one who, having been born again, will be judged.

This is not having a go at you my dear brother, just how I am feeling at the moment xo

We are loved

We are forgiven

We are a work in progress

We are saved by faith, not works!

Hi @ENKELI ,

I couldn't read your last post without replying.

You're a prayer warrior.

There are many of us who follow Jesus who are slack with prayer (at least some of the time). But you are communing with God all the time. And you do share the word with us.

Each of us has our own strengths.

I think you know it already (deep down) but I'm sure God has you so securely in His hand. He understands your situation.

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELII’m not speaking just from myself here—1 Corinthians 3:11–15 and Romans 8:1 really say it clearly. If we are in Christ, there is no condemnation. We’re saved by faith, not by what we do.

About your father—I don’t mean this harshly at all, but with hope. Anything in his life that wasn’t loving or of God… that’s what God’s fire deals with. Not to destroy him, but to purify. I truly believe your dad is saved because of Jesus—and that same hope is for all of us.

1 Corinthians 3:14-15 shows that when we pass through the fire, what isn’t of God falls away, and what’s real remains. If we rely on our own works, we’ve got nothing to stand on—but that’s exactly why grace matters so much.

And honestly, it’s not about being perfect or “doing enough.” I haven’t been regularly to church for years myself. What matters is holding onto Jesus. When we let go of our old life and take hold of Him, we begin to receive new life—even now, little by little.

So don’t lose heart. Don’t believe things about yourself or about God that aren’t true. Jesus isn’t asking you to fix yourself—He’s asking you to trust Him and let Him change you from the inside out.

Yes, Scripture also says it’s not an easy thing, and that God is holy—but that same fire also shows His mercy and grace. So yes we need faith and renewal. Those who love God will meeting Him in glory, for the bad life still sticking will finally be gone, but those who are self-seeking, unloving and unbelieving they will meet the rider on the white horse and the Sword of His Mouth.🤐 So loving and true they can now also be.

Everything unloving falls away, but what’s true is kept.

We all need faith. We all need renewal. And like 1 Timothy 4:10 says, God is the Saviour of all, especially those who believe. That’s something to hold onto.

(i like this teaching on hell.)

Good Morning Dear Family in our Lord Jesus.

God’s Love Transforms.

Truth did not come from distant skies—
He met me somewhere deep inside.
The pressure building, hard to name,
as something in me split the strain.

Conflicting voices filling my mind—
fear, anger and religion intertwined.
Each voice demanding more control,
each one claiming it make me whole.

My thoughts no longer in His rest,
a perpetual storm within my chest.
Old wounds surfaced, sharp and near,
echoing doubt, magnifying my fear.

And then—Christ's lovely fire Came!

Not chaos, confusion or terror's voice,
His truth steadily cutting through the noise.
The Presence of His Love strong and near,
which does not feed on my rising fear.

He does not shout nor strive or chase
Jesus Came and took His rightful Place.
In His revealing light so clear and true,
inner falsehood His truth inside me slew.

For what burned was not the core of me,
but all inside keeping me from being free
the weight of all the lies and inward strain,
patterns I formed heeding fear and pain.

It is not easy for truth has to go very deep.
The heart break our Lord wants me to keep.
For even as His holy fire clears The Way,
something real is born within me to stay.

No more voices speaking rage or fear.
No more double mind in constant fight.
For no self effort can come even near
To the workings of His love and light.

My life far above all the noise I’d known,
sure knowledge I was never on my own.
Nor created to struggle loss and strains,
but be also one He in His love sustains.

His fire remains—therefore now I see,
God's love was never sent to undo me.
His torch of love to heal and to realign,
to place all that is broken back in line.

Let His Word me from my lies divide.
so all falsehood will fall away inside.
For His flaming love steady and true,
God’s Spirit re-creating my life anew.

Hi @heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @tyme , @Shaz51 , @MissGremlin ,

- Romans 2 and Romans 3 today.

- At the end of Romans 1 we had what I call one of Paul's impossible lists - no one can tick off against every sin on that list. I think that's Paul's intention when writing such complete lists - we all need Jesus.

- Romans 2:1-3 Paul talks against judging other people - you do the same things!

- Romans 2:4 God's kindness should turn us to God.

- Romans 2:7 God will give eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honour and immortality.

- Romans 2 covers the rebellion of humankind including the moralist is guilty (Romans 2:1-16) and the Jew is guilty (Romans 2:17-29) (Piper, 2022).

- Romans 2:15 [Some Gentiles] show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times defending them.

- Romans 2:29 A person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.

Romans 3

- Romans 3:1-20 covers all are guilty within the rebellion of humankind (Piper, 2022).

- Romans 3:10 There is no one righteous, not even one.

- Romans 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

- From Romans 3:21 Paul starts talking about The Righteousness of God. (Piper, 2022)

- Romans 3:21 But now there is a new way.

- Romans 3:22 The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ.

We are all weak human beings. We are not in a position to judge one another. We all need Jesus. Thank you Jesus for your incredible gift to us.

@ENKELI Glad you liked it! i really enjoyed writing it.

@Realness @heartathome @Appleblossom @Shaz51

i've been doing a lot of work on my anger and rage. For i know a lot of hurt lays underneath all that, in my life and that of my loved ones. In the past not at all comprehending the nature of anger and its proper function in my life. Yet now 5 counselling session further, and through a lot of youtube videos as well, as well discussing this with my wife, as well as AI, have opened my understanding and is helping to place that emotion in the right place instead of let continue to be destructive in my life causing me only ever more pain.

I’m glad that one landed.

A poem i been working on today in response to weeks of work on my anger and inner hurt.

Anger Signals.

Anger speaks like truth
loud, certain, and clear,
'Act now!' Anger fumes!
Then for a moment,
I feel very strong.
But anger's fire doesn’t choose,
it flushes so very hot,
and then the burning lingers.

Yet when I try hold the anger in,
the anger my will will poison!
But do let my anger go loose,
it will surely scar
even more pain
into existence.

Truth is beneath my anger
smoulders so much hurt.
Hide so many fears!
So much terror lived!
Not something small,
painful truth left unbeholden!
My anger guard it well
even from myself.

Now I don’t want to follow
not fight anger anymore
To stay near the heat
letting the anger speak,
right from within,
but not my reaction decide.
And so I await anger to cool
until the hot fires soften.
So pain hidden underneath,
looms into sight.
No more mindless rage,
but unearthing buried truth
Finally let the hurt materialise.

Not using anger as a weapon
but as a signal to locate
the pain down deepest.
for it will show up
from underneath
when anger is ignored.
For me to love,
all that hurt,
inside of me,
God's love now!😍

Hi @DownMoreThanUp ,

I saw on another thread you had an important doctor's appointment - just wondering how it went? Hope you were able to resolve many of the issues.
