@heartathome "We studied Paul's letter to the Romans 1: 18 - 32 at bible study today. I found it deep and confronting. 💜"

So relate!

Until Jesus showed me Paul is talking about the wickedness of us, not us, for He loves us and has called us by His Name.

For if you read on in the same framework you have been in, deep where you feeling confronted, yet still fully trusting and loving Jesus all the way to chapter 8 you will find what you are looking for.

Meeting His love and grace for you where you now feel confronted now. 🎉 Not because anything you did anything apart of believing what you read and keep trusting Jesus

@ENKELI @Realness @tyme @Appleblossom @MissGremlin

For me reading chapter 2 deep in my heart straight after i had read chapter 1 was extraordinarily appreciated already straight away, for i felt most confronted by chapter 1.

i know the word in the book of Romans has helped me heaps to understand how we meet The Living Word chapter 1:18-31 the best way in our hearts. For i know for sure Christ's blood executed upon the sin in my heart spiritually God's grace, is more liberating than anything i ever experienced in my life being confronted by His truthful love inside myself the (wretched) sinner

Grace.

Grace is not a feeling or a thought,
Neither can it be sold or bought.

It cannot be swallowed like a pill,
Or cheaply ease some inner ill.

Grace does not enforce any demand,
Nor is anything personal banned.

Rather it is God's healing hand of Love,
His compassion descending from above,
Lifting us gently out of our inner pain,
So we can safely be ourselves again.

Indeed i have loved Jesus ever since instead of hiding in my cave. Awesome to leave the misery of sin forever behind and live Jesus' righteousness instead of my guilt, self hate and reproach.

I'm shocked! @DownMoreThanUp I don't know what to say! There's no use asking why when you've said you can't explain. Is there any way you can take time out instead? I wish I could change your mind! You have been a big part of this thread since I've been here. If you have to go, I want to thank you for being a part of my life and I will meet you later! I wish you nothing but the best! 🙏 💜

@DownMoreThanUp Best of wishes in your journey. Yes, like the others. I thank you for your offerings in the spirit.

Sensing that we are all vulnerable at the moment. I am.

Just a gentle wave to all for being friends and walking and talking for the good.

Hi @heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @tyme , @MissGremlin , @AlwaysMyself , @REDLINEZ750 ,

Acts 10

- Cornelius. A centurion (captain) of the Italian Regiment. A devout man, fears God, many charitable deeds, and always praying to God.

- Angel visits Cornelius. God has seen your acts of charity and prayers. Send for Simon who is also named Peter.

- Cornelius immediately obeys.

- Peter praying on the roof at about noon.

- Sees a vision of unclean animals. Told to eat them. "No, Lord! I have never eaten anything unclean."

- Voice says, "What God has made clean, do not call impure."

- Vision happens three times.

- Peter wonders what it means.

- Cornelius' messengers arrive.

- Spirit tells Peter to go with them.

- Peter, and some of the brothers of Joppa, go to Cornelius.

- Cornelius recounts the angel's visit. "What has God commanded you to tell us."

- Peter says:

  • God doesn't show favouritism.
  • People who fear God from every nation are welcome.
  • To the Israelites God proclaimed the good news of peace through Jesus Christ - He is Lord of all.
  • You know what took place - John's baptism, Jesus' healing power, Jesus on the cross, God raised Him on the third day, appointed us as witnesses that He rose.
  • Jesus is the one appointed by God as judge.
  • All the prophets testify about forgiveness of sins by believing in Jesus.

- Holy Spirit came on those listening - they were speaking in other languages.

- Peter: Can we withhold baptism from those who have received the Holy Spirit?

- Cornelius and company baptised in the name of Jesus Christ.

The welcoming of non-Jews to Jesus. God speaking to both Cornelius (through an angel) and Peter (through a vision) to prepare the way.

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @heartathome ,

I read Romans 1:18-32 after your post yesterday. Like @DownMoreThanUp did and then thoughtfully replied.

Paul's lists are so complete. None of us can stand with lists that include anger, envy, strife, deceit, gossip, disobedience to parents, a lack of mercy.

But I'm beginning to think that may be Paul's point. Not that we can tick (or cross) every item on the list but that we need Jesus.

I read on a bit into Romans 2. It's about judging and being fit to judge. Romans 2:1 says "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgement on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgement do the same things." I think that this verse also supports Paul's lists being so complete that no one can fulfill that level of righteousness and thus none of us are in a position to judge anyone.

DownMoreThanUp wrote yesterday "Until Jesus showed be Paul is talking about the wickedness of us, not us." I found that helpful also.

Did your study leader come to a similar conclusion?

Hope all, except your younger sister's cancer, is going well for you. Life my end is quiet and peaceful. I am feeling the weight of the lack of energy but doing my best within the constraint.

How intuitive you are. I also am feeling vulnerable at the moment.
