Christian Chat

Hi my friends, this is Bella here, I thought how nice & lovely to have a Thread for Christians. I am not talking about Religion, GOD is Love, GOD gives free will to us all in the world. I have a relationship with GOD through HIS Word-The Bible, most of my life. I became a Pentecostal Christian many years ago. Would you like to come join me here in this Thread?

I am excited about starting it, you can just sit relax, chat about your love, for GOD & JESUS. Or post encouragement for others. Support, or be supported with Prayer. Hey, would you like to, Praise & post links to Praise & Worship music? Stories, or experiences, poetry, fun things to help us have a giggle, lovely pictures, photos, there are so many things you can post & chat about that will Bless & Build us up in The LORD! Life is about giving, loving, healing flows from a loving heart, whom purely wants to- just give!

I hope & pray, you will receive, Peace, Love, & JOY!... & healing in your heart! Amen xo <>< Bella 🙂

Re: Christian Chat

@avant-garde apologies, we have the Pastor and Elders in my church. I guess Deacons are like Elders? If you're able to advise what your Deacons' role is that will help me understand the hierarchy in your church.

Thanks honey. Are you otherwise okay? How did you manage yesterday?

xoxo

Re: Christian Chat

It's a very powerful, short video @ENKELI and I love how short they are. My attention span isn't that good, but I've got enough for those!

Remember in the Bible somewhere it says the first will be last and the last will be first. I think it's in the Bible. Anyway, I'd rather have God's spirit than millions of dollars. I live fortnight to fortnight but spiritually I'm rich!! 💛

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp Amen my dear bro! That is so good to hear.

I also love Lauren Daigle and I have to thank you again for introducing me to Megan Woods. They are both such strong singers.

Have you seen the movie series God's Not Dead? If not there is a Reverend Jude from Ghana and his catch phrase is "God is good, all the time. And all the time, God is good." My ex friend and I used to say it all the time and it was a little painful to watch the movie again and be reminded of ex friend but I just love the phrase too much to get upset about ex friend.

For God IS good all the time.

Much agape love my dear brother xoxo

@heartathome that is probably the sweetest thing I've heard today. I am the same, I am financially poor but spiritually rich too. Thank you for reminding me 🙂

God has always helped me when needed, even when I disappoint Him, He still shows up.

Re: Christian Chat

Wow! @ENKELI That's amazing about your best friend now living ten minutes away! How wonderful is that! That's such a blessing!

I'm glad you've got the money from your brother and you're both okay with it. With interest? I think that's a bit rough.

I asked my brother if I could borrow money for car insurance last month. He sighed first which was enough for me! I would have rather driven uninsured than to take his money! I can be very stubborn and tend to take things personally. It was hard for me to ring him. It ended up that I was blessed to be able to get a Centrelink loan. Now I get them to take the money out monthly. Much better.

I hate owing anyone anything! I'd rather go without! I will cut my nose off despite my face. Is that a saying?

It was good to make contact with my friend. We're taking an 86-year-old woman out for a cuppa tomorrow morning. She has dementia but is as funny as... whatever! She's got so many stories of the past even if we get told them each time we see her. She's a wonderful older person!

A week off studying. That sounds good! I hope you have a relaxing evening after your busyness today! Talk soon 💛

Re: Christian Chat

@heartathome I love that you and your friend are taking out the lady with dementia. I used to have a gay friend whose mum had dementia. We went to visit her once and she asked me if I was single, because her son wasn't married. My friend would patiently remind her that he was gay and in a long term relationship. 10 minutes later she would ask me again if I was single. Friend and I ended up just saying I was married and my friend and I were just friends.

I am very much like you in that I hate borrowing money from people. I am happy to give my brother interest because he is taking the money out from his super and he would get interest if the money was still in his fund. Normally I wouldn't pay interest though.
I'm glad you were able to get the Centrelink loan. I was looking at that as well but could only get $500 and I know that my dental work and car will cost much more than that.

Yes to cut off your nose to spite your face is definitely a saying, once that my mum uses often!

Look after yourself gorgeous, I will be praying for you that you have a good week and that God blesses you. You are such a lovely person and for your brother to act that way, I want to smack him!

xoxo

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI

How do I explain this...

The role of pastor is pretty straight forward, he teaches, he cares, he's the designated undershepherd with theological training and the understanding of what it means to lead a church and care for the flock as Jesus would.

Elders are to assist in the caring of the spiritual wellness of the flock in which they step in and help (for me anyway) with theological understanding and any issues I have, my elder is my first port of call if I need help understanding something or when I am finding attending church harder than my usual hard.

He's also who I contact when I'm in hospital and when things go wrong or when I'm mentally struggling.

Deacons are there to assist in the physical wellness of the flock, like if I needed help getting to church or (supposedly) accommodation.

So Jesus is the Shepherd

His 13 apostles were elders

and then the 7 mentioned in Acts 6 were deacons

I'm otherwise coping, it's a rough day and I have a cold, but i'm ok enough.
