Christian Chat

Christian Chat

Hi my friends, this is Bella here, I thought how nice & lovely to have a Thread for Christians. I am not talking about Religion, GOD is Love, GOD gives free will to us all in the world. I have a relationship with GOD through HIS Word-The Bible, most of my life. I became a Pentecostal Christian many years ago. Would you like to come join me here in this Thread?

I am excited about starting it, you can just sit relax, chat about your love, for GOD & JESUS. Or post encouragement for others. Support, or be supported with Prayer. Hey, would you like to, Praise & post links to Praise & Worship music? Stories, or experiences, poetry, fun things to help us have a giggle, lovely pictures, photos, there are so many things you can post & chat about that will Bless & Build us up in The LORD! Life is about giving, loving, healing flows from a loving heart, whom purely wants to- just give!

I hope & pray, you will receive, Peace, Love, & JOY!... & healing in your heart! Amen xo <>< Bella 🙂

Re: Christian Chat

Good afternoon @AuntGlow I'm good. I've just come back from a weekend of glamping with my church. Most people were in tents, but I decided to splurge on myself. It was a really beautiful dwelling, and a queen bed for those who can't get down on the floor anymore! 🙋‍♀️ It was expensive but well worth it for the experience! How are you today? 💛

I have to be honest and admit that I'm missing someone who hasn't been on for a few days. I wish I knew they were okay. Something that happens, I presume. People leaving for a while. I think they'll be back, but I just miss having them around! I'm okay. It's just something I haven't thought about - people leaving! 😔

Oh my gosh, that sound so fun and wholesome!! @heartathome

That is very fancy, yes 💅

What was the vibe like overall?

I am well! Just catching up on everyone's posts - there's always so many on a Sunday!

I totally hear you on this... 🥺

Yes, it is very normal for people to come and go depending on what's going on for them. It can feel quite strange not talking to the same people every day. I am here if you want to talk about this further at all. 💛

@AuntGlow I would like to talk more about someone who has disappeared. Does someone ring them to see if they are okay? I'm very sad!

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI Hi sis good hearing from you. i do resonate with you having issues with kids singing Gospel songs, or hymns, for although their voices are innocent and sincere, their life experiences with God, the very things they often sing songs about, they do not have. So they literally do not know what they are singing about. Not to talk about parental pressure put on the kids to perform.

Sorry to hear about this person who is not interested in hearing about God. i have many such person's in my life as a worker with people, although i know that time can make a difference, so i'm encouraged to hear you still feel the need to continue praying for this person.

On this note.

Once, 32-33 years ago, we fostered a 13 year old boy with severe mental (ADHD, DEPRESSION & DID, as well as sexual abuse by an uncle, as well as government worker when he was a state ward, when he was a kid. This he revealed to me at a much later date in his life however, but which we had already suspected seeing him act the way he did after he left us.)

At the time he never wanted to hear about Jesus or our faith in God. He laughed us all in the face praying for our food and reading out of the bible at the dinner table. And although he desperately wanted a loving family the source of the love in our household he had no time for whatsoever at the time.

However we with stayed in contact with this person after he left, all through out the years of his jail in and out broken life. Throughout his many relationships and heart broken times. Over the time he fathering 2 boys which were promptly taken from him because of his criminal record. And throughout the hurt the constant rejection from his natural family caused him. And at the moment going through his trans figuration into a female, and where for old time sake i am the only one allowed to address him by his (male) birth name, and he is finally opening up to hearing about Jesus and tthe power of faith life.

Lately we discuss Jesus together much more seriously, as he now rings me almost weekly. Sadly he is in jail again, but hopefully he will be out in three weeks, and will be able to stay out for longer than a few years this time. At least he is seriously considering the things i share about Jesus with him now.

The truth is i have prayed for this person for 30 years. for each time Jesus brought him to mind or he contacted us he be in deep trouble. And although we have coped a lot of abuse from him in the past, i have learned to love him, like he was my own son, no matter how confused and stuffed up he is from years in jail and all the crap he been through a kid.

He knows only a little of my life story, but he does know Jesus healed me from my past trauma, and gave me a loving wife, and a life outside of jail and the healing of my turbulent past, and has been very much more interested talking about Jesus since.

i'm hoping that one day he will hear The Voice of Jesus and alos leave his life of bondage to sin and mental illness behind.

Re: Christian Chat

hey @DownMoreThanUp just wanted to let you know that i've moved your recent post to the christian chat thread. since there was a lot of religious themes in the post, it seemed it'd be a good fit for this thread instead - hope that's okay 😊

Re: Christian Chat

@rav3n All good considering the content of our discussion.

@heartathome @AuntGlow @ENKELI @Jynx

Although it does make me wonder if SANE by default considers personal faith stories toxic/controversial to others?

My question is could our life (faith) stories stories also have a good effect on other people's lives just like other people's (faith) stories often have on ours? Why is there such a need for separation here? i come across other people's (faith) stories all the time, and have learned heaps from other faiths experiences this way.

Just thinking aloud here.

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp those are great questions to ask and consider!

stories re: faith can definitely be helpful, hence why a thread like this one can be a great space for individuals to come and read/connect/share stories.

with a community that has diverse views and values around religion, we want to make sure we're respectful to all different faiths/views, thus we encourage being mindful about where and how we share it.
why do we want to be mindful? because there are members who have religious trauma (and thus topics around faith may be triggering for them), perhaps there might be people who have different/complicated relationships with faith and feel uncomfortable seeing religious topics across light-hearted threads/social spaces.

just to be clear, i'm not saying you've done anything wrong! conversations around faith are absolutely welcome, and we appreciate you sharing your journey. we just want to make sure we're considering what spaces we're conducting longer posts/discussions re: faith so that everyone feels respected and safe. having the discussion in the christian chat can be great so that those who are interested and choose to learn more can come here and hear from all you amazing people! 😊
