Hi, I was feeling a tad down, I prayed & I rested, ate properly, a healthy meal. Played with Ruby, (my dog daughter) I watched my favourite comedy Show. Then the light went on, so, to speak!

I speedily went to my Laptop, PC, typed in the appropriate title of my, light bulb moment, idea. Then this song came up, PRAISE GOD!

I'm glad your spirits have lifted. It's nice to know you're feeling better. 🙂

I need to explain something to you all; @Former-Member@Former-Member@Appleblossom@Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member I don't consider myself a Christian. I have a personal relationship with God and don't affiliate myself with any religious dogma.

I studied much when young with an Anglican Priest who I loved and admired...Father Bob. I still have a little white New Testament he gave me inscribed in my 8 year old hand.

As I got older, I began questioning church authorities on Adam and Eve. Each time I received a different answer. So I broadened my scope to Catholic and other religious factions only to find each interpreted the story in their own way; either symbolic or fact.

Then one day while reading the Old Testament I began to cry. It expressed how a woman's monthly cycle was a sin and punished by isolation until it was over.

I felt shame, confusion and anger. Then reading the book of Ruth, I began to feel uneasy about the role of women and how they'd been treated and viewed throughout history. I left my bible studies and journeyed onto other religions to find answers that satisfied me; none did.

Dan Brown's 'The Da Vinci Code' was the last straw. I remember reading the Vatican had overturned their opinion of Mary Magdaline from being a prostitute to actually being a woman of 'means'. I burst into tears and pounded my fist on the bed in a rage at the lies.

I didn't give up on God, I gave up on organised religion and the men who led the charge against women. Humanity has ruined my ideals learned in childhood.

I'm sorry I've poured all this out tonight; I must've needed it. I didn't plan to write about my woes..

My words aren't meant to find argument with Christianity. I guess it's my anger at being born female and the confusion religion created for me.

Anyway, (whew!) I'll go now and leave it with you. I hope you're not offended.
