Let's make Christmas fun

Good morning Forum Land,
Just in case you didn't know, it is two weeks until Christmas. I'm super excited!!! Christmas can be SUCH a hard time of the year. As many of you know, I have no family or friends, and consequently I will be spending Christmas day alone, just like I spend every other day of the year alone. However, this will be the twentieth Christmas that I have spent by myself and I kind-of have the hang of it now. It used to be excruciating, but over the years I have developed my own way of navigating the day. I have created family Christmas traditions...just without the family bit.

To all those Forumites who superly duperly struggle with Christmas, I get it. I really do. For many years it was a truly horrendous time of the year for me. But now I've learnt to make it a fun time in my own quirky way.

This is my first Christmas in Forum Land and I am super looking forward to counting down the days to Christmas here. I totally understand that this thread will not suit everyone. There are threads here and here, which focus on the challenging aspects of this time of year. My hope is that this thread can be a space where those of us who want to enjoy the fun parts of Christmas can do so. Christmas can be oh-so-hard...but despite my muddles and my social isolation, I choose to make Christmas fun. I superly duperly hope you will join me.

@Former-Member full disclosure - I cheated too lol - couldn't work out exactly what it was to include in the 12 days to christmas so I googled it too - I settled on the cat purring

@Phoenix_Rising I will post each day's verse at the beginning of each day and at the end of the 12 days copy all the 'presents' over on Christmas Eve - ready for a Christmas Day party. I have already asked Santa if I can 'borrow' some of his elves that night to help with moving the presents into foumland central (aka this thread). He (and the elves) were all very excited when asked and are more than happy to help!

@Zoe7 Yay for the 12 days of Christmas!!!!! I saw the picture of @Bunniekins's car. You do know there is no way in hell I am squishing in there with a bunch of Forumites, right? I'm happy to ride on the roof.

So...yesterday I enlisted the help of @Former-Member @CheerBear @NikNik and @Former-Member to help me set up the outdoor decorations. Well, I have never seen four individuals fool around so much. We are nowhere near finished yet! Consequently, I've now enlisted @Bunniekins @Former-Member @Former-Member and @Queenie to help me. Surely they will take this project a bit more seriously!

Yesterday on a walk around Google I found some Christmas ornaments that I thought might be cool to add to a forum tree. Then one magically appeared thanks to @Former-Member on the 12 Days of Christmas thread! So excited to see that happen!

No need to be concerned @Phoenix_Rising I put you on the car second after @Bunniekins. I put Greenpea behind the wheel as the driver but I am a bit concerned she will go too fast as that is the only speed she seems to have lol - mmmmmm might need to rethink that one

Little Turtle - you are alread on the outside of the car - alllllllll on your own - but with the moderators close by watching over you (all of them......) - see...always thinking 'turtle' here @Phoenix_Rising

@Zoe7 Zoe7 I dont think my lil greenpea car could do more than 20 kms an hour ... it looks like it has peddles lol.
