Need help with making decisions

Just wondering is there any support out there that can help me make decisions when I am unwell and unable to make decisions for myself as I live on my own with no informal supports as currently I dont know if I am being taken advantage of by some of my supports and have issues making decisions and advocating for myself since NDIS came into play.

And been told once while in ED that I can no longer advocate for myself due to strain on my mental health yet I have no choice as no one will help me. As been to ED due to MH about 7 times without any help provided :'( within the last 12 months

Hi @sjpersonal,
Have you tried contacting any charities. Some of them can advocate for you to Centrelink and the like.
Also are you linked up with community mental health at all? They have some supports available too.
Sorry I'm not more help, but some of the other forumites might know.

community mental health refuses to help me at all as on NDIS and they never wanted to help me regarding anything.

I'm sure that's not the case.
These organisations can be very difficult to navigate and to be honest, I'm not sure if any of them are actually allowed to make decisions for you. It goes against the principle of what they do.
Personally Ive found community mental health as useful as a punch in the face, but I know others who have found them helpful.
Do you have a GP or psychiatrist or psychologist you see?

Are there any charities in your city?
Can you approach the MH team and NP and apologise and see if you can stay on their service?

@sjpersonalI am very sad to hear your position.

I am also seriously disappointed in my local Emergency Dept, as they are not doing their job properly, with grave consequences for my family.

Unfortunately I believe you.

Their may be conflicts of interest and and "pass the buck" merchants within the mental health system.

I also took a LONG time to become aware of who was taking advantage of me.

Eventually I am clear about who is/was a genuine person where there was some balance in the give and take, but I have been lucky in that, I have clearer boundaries now.

I have no experience of the NDIS, but it has been suggested, so I may be learning about it soon.

Sorry about your emotional episodes. I have had a few of my own. When we dont have real supports sometimes they do happen and others may not have sufficient experience or understanding or compassion to be useful ... whether in the MH field or not.

The best I can suggest is stay linked in .. and keeping reading and posting .. and maybe members of the SANE community can walk with you in a way that helps you make the best of your situation irl.
