A message to yourself in six months time

A message to yourself in six months time

Hey folks,

I heard an interesting idea on the radio today where people left messages for themsevles in the future. The idea works like this: you write a note to yourself, and then plan to read it in six months. Maybe you will want to have done something by then, or maybe you've just started something new and want to see how you're going in six months.

Here is the place where you can check in with yourself six months later:

Here's my message to myself:

Relax and breath... relax and breath.... eat healthy and smile.

Hi @AyeJay

I just had a calendar reminder pop up to let you know it's been six months since you post in here.

Wow - time flies!

Re: A message to yourself in six months time

I admit it was an exercise in toe dipping here for me this afternoon @Former-Member. Hence 'started' one rather than posted one. Sorry if I scared you 💓

Re: A message to yourself in six months time

what scares me about it is.... what if I write it down and in 6 months I'm in the same place with what I wrote down @Former-Member? That scares me. No doubt that says more about me than the idea. I think theoretically the idea is a really good one.

Hi everyone,

A quick shout out to @MoonGal @BeeGee @Former-Member @BlueBay and @Kurra

It's been six months 🙂

If anyone wants to write themselves a note for 6 months time and wants a reminder, @mention me and I will put it in my calendar.

Nik

Well Kurra, miracles do happen. If anything, you're even better than you were 6 months ago.

In another 6 months I expect you to continue on this full mental health path. Go girl 😁

Re: A message to yourself in six months time

Wow it caught me off guard reading that. I was firstly in denial that it was six months :face_with_rolling_eyes:.

After thinking about it I've decided that some things have remained whilst some have come true. I think I've established a better relationship with my boys and that we are becoming a closer, more unified family again. I think I know myself better than before and am more aware of some of the things needed to achieve better mental health.....being consistent with them is the hard part. As for the spreading the appointments out that hasn't happened but I no longer have contact much in between, most weeks with out any.

Ok so we haven't got the basics covered on lots of days but on the ok days I'm doing it better but no slight resemblance of routine yet. My crisis seemed to have escalated but I have had a few steps forward in dealing with them. Health professionals don't ask me if I've really committed to living because they've given that up as a bad joke. I swing weekly with it.

My hope for the next six months.

That therapy with the new psychiatrist will help.

That I have stability with my mental health supports.

That I return to study successfully

That I begin to address the things I fear and face more of my fears

That I venture more into the real world

I hope to begin reconnecting and establishing irl friendships.

That there is stability and unity within my household.

Well there's my wish list. Let's see how it goes 🙏
