Struggling to find happiness...

Struggling to find happiness...

...whatever that is! Am I destined to always be ruled by my MI?

Re: Struggling to find happiness...

@utopia @Ellu I think I've been faking it too long. It has exhausted me too. Playing pretend and faking being 'normal' is an exhausting process, which leaves me worn out physically and emotionally.

While I've been hospitalised while I've been with my Mrs, she has never seen me acutely psychotic to the point I've been a danger to myself or other people. That worries me... a lot. I can be a handful when I am that unwell. Will she be too frightened?

Re: Struggling to find happiness...

She married you @Queenie. She is aware of your MI. She's a smart woman - she would have looked it up. But that doesn't stop you talking to her and explaining your fears. I think if I was in her shoes, I would appreciate your honesty.

Re: Struggling to find happiness...

Thanks @utopia. I have told her stories about what I was like back then (chaotic is a nice way to put it). She has always replied that she is glad I have so far never been like that with her. I think these days though, I request help before it comes too much to handle. I have a lot more insight these days.

Fingers crossed it never happens.

Re: Struggling to find happiness...

Yes you do have more insight @Queenie & youdo reach out for help early. Good self care.
I guess there is always a fear at the back of your mind, that you could be that sick again. That's understandable. But you haven't been that sick for a long time, because you are more attuned to how your mind and body works.
That's great!

Re: Struggling to find happiness...

Cross that bridge when you get there @Queenie. Do what YOU need in this moment. Take the time to stop and observe all those tiny special moments in nature that we do often overlook. It is there within yourself that you will find happiness .

Much love to you. 💖

Nature is beautiful indeed @Kurra. It has the power to create and destroy all at once, just like a thunderstorm or a forest fire.
