I agree with what yuou have said in response. I also think that when someone with MI wishes to be made sterile because they don't want to have children should also be able to make that choice for themselves. My son was refused by the doctors which is very unfortunate for him.

Wow. Heavy. Silly (sorry, i know i'm being rude). We don't even know yet if there's a genetic component to mental illness - they haven't isolated a single gene yet. I suspect mental illnesses are all caused by trauma, personally. I don't think they ever will isolate a gene. And forced sterilisation is a bit Hitleresque, isn't it? Eugenics is a very flawed concept with only limited applications anyway.
