We are very open to people sharing their opinions and respect people's choices - and I respect your choice not to have children (which I think I saw in another post you made).
I feel strongly the opposite to you..
Genetics isn't the only predictor of the development of Bipolar and Schizophrenia - there is an increased chance - but it's not 100%
Even if it was though... I don't think a mental illness defines what one offers the community or means what they contribute is negative - in fact I have seen more people with MI provide positive things to society than negative, some of them due to their MI and some regardless it.
I'm not sure if you've had really negative experiences with BP2 and do not wish it on to your children (and therefore have chosen not to have any) but I think it's quite unfortunate that you have that belief.

Sory @AlienBP2 I dont think you are an alien and I dont think we have the right to desex others ... some people used to say that about Downies and other disbilities ... I am the daughter of 2 people who suffered times of ill health with schizophrenia ... so I know that MI brings profound suffering ... and the fear of inheriting or passing it on ...
I like many of your upbeat posts trying to spport others.
Do you think you have inherited Bi polar through genes or social situation?
Can you imagine any path in life where you can achieve some satisfaction?

There is a huge difference between desexing and following a creative career. I agree about encouraging creativity. Tease out those issues man.
