Mood Tracking through Colour

Mood Tracking through Colour

Hell-oh BPD forums, how are we? Good to hear. I'm a bit iffy today, up and down, but it's good. How do I know that?

It's a bit... gory. Sorry, that should be G.O.R.Y...B.

I've been tracking my moods in various different ways over the past few months - a great app called emoods, a whiteboard and markers, a scale of 1-10. But I've realised that I can't stay with those because it takes too much work. Im a visual person, and a visual learner. So Ive started using different coloured cells in a spreadsheet - no columns, just filling the sheet with colours, of the different emotions I feel at different times (either whenever I notice, but always at 12 midday and an average of the day before bed).

I use gory colours (heh. Not going to get old.) - Green (jealousy and abandonment), Orange (Chirpy and happy), Red (Anger), Yellow (anxious) and Blue (sad). This way I can get a lovely rainbow of colours that kinda charts my head. It looked really pretty when i did it on paper - so this will be cool.

My question - do we track our moods? If so, how do you do it? Do you think it has benefits?

(PS Any other acronym for GORYB would be appreciated. Best I have is BORGY, but Im Star Wars not a Trekky 😛 )

Re: Mood Tracking through Colour

@utopia did you use an app or a journal to track your moods and around activities?

Re: Mood Tracking through Colour

I used an ap @outlander. I'm sorry I can't remember what it was called though.
I did find it really helpful. I marked from a scale of 1 to 10 how I felt and I could also write a note. That way I could look back and see if my moods had a pattern or if something could set them off. Eg; lack of sleep.

hello @Former-Member @outlander @Loopus @Queenie @utopia

I think the concept is great...

love the idea that you do not have to write anything with the post it notes....sticky note things...I would focus so much on the wording and then tear it up and not do anything....

outlander and bella....I did notice that you wrote on one thread...which incidentally is I think the first time that I have seen one of your posts...you used pink and I just thought how sweet and liked the fact that you took the time...so I have to say snap with you outlander...

utopia...great that you were given insight into peri menopause...there does seem to be more out there these days....I had never heard of the term until I was enduring the symptoms...

loopus...welcome....I hope that you continue to post and take a look around at so many interesting threads...some lovely souls on here... so I hope that we can give you something in return...

cheers all

It's Amazing @Former-Member what one can find late at night, after playing with my PRECIOUS @outlander until we both can not stay awake much longer!

Now, will I have to live up to my colour codes, not hard to do?

Love & Hugs!

Bella XXOO 🙂
