under 30s thread

under 30s thread

thought it might be cool to get everyone under 30 years old to share their experiences on the forum
just to help each other with "young people stuff"

Not hated here @Former-Member

Everyone makes mistakes. Even the big head honcho dudes. My ex lost half a mill once ... but his boss and company let him off the hook and absorbed it in their losses and passed it on to consumers ... Ssshhhh .. I wont tell which company it is/was ... you know dodgy the IT computer scene has been in the last 3 decades ... dot com ... games etc etc ... I can keep a secret, but I rarely tell a lie .. intentionally anyway.

Keep the respect of YOU and country.

Did I raise a little smile with the Gadigal lady yarn. The first humour I ever encountered was koori humour. Love it. its got Balls and pathos. so I am biased, but still a whitey.

Re: under 30s thread

Met my first koori humour sitting under trees on country on the grass in Hyde Park. They were adults and my dad's mates. One even was in the South Melbourne Hellhole pedo home where my dad lived for 10 years as a kid and then he must have introduced the others to dad who knew everyone in Hyde Park. How dare the pedos give St Vincent such a bad name.

Met my first koori girl a few years before but not much humour there. Mostly silent traumatised 7 ? year olds tossed from home to home. I only figured out 30 years later that she must have been koori because she referred to herself as coming from different people and remembered she was a bit dark but but I did not get it and had no clue what that meant at 6. I was not even being whitey up myself cos I have a friend who is token black ... she was simply the next kid in that orphanage block ... and I showed her the ropes .. but then the dept broke up another of my relationships. Thanks a mill. That Dept is so freaking DODGY they KEEP changing their name ... like a bloody crim... the bloody social workers around in 1986 were so freakin scared of losing their jobs when my ex went to the Supreme Court ... ffs .... I cant keep up with what they call themselves these days. friggin bastards. Change their name like the local high school ... BAD REPUTATION ... There you go a little vent at a govt dept. with split personality disorder not over ... cos I could probably right a few books on the matter.

Sorry for detour @Former-Member

You and your siblings know that particular drill ... of coping with unfeeling bureacracy.

Re: under 30s thread

@Appleblossom yep child services sucks and you know what bugs me? That people who know the kids best (me!!) do not get any sort of say yet the people making these decisions and people that hardly know them, but you know the know best because they have been to University *eye roll *
Some of if is just messed up when I was in the system I moved carers so many times and my case worker would always change and you know... Who has time to read notes these days? So many things went unnoticed or not passed on to new people and it made the process even more traumatic than it was to start with.
And really honestly, when they say they are connecting indigenous kids to their culture in the care system, don't believe it for a second. I had to seek all that information out as an adult.
Most of my siblings are in foster care but my brother is in residential care which is slightly different and a lot of stuff goes on there behind closed doors, there is reason why my brother runs away every night and cries to me on the phone.
Anyway .
@MDT Nope not really

Re: under 30s thread

Sorry to hear about your brother @Former-Member Thanks for putting up with my rant.

It does not help him but reading your last post bought tears to my eyes .. cos yeah I can JUST IMAGINE what goes on behind their bloomin closed doors.

I was told that DOCS is a bloody chook house ..but laughing at them only helps so much ...

My 3 sibs are now dead. They were all younger than me ... died at 21, 33, 52. dad at 45. The ages say it all. 3 of the deaths were in bloody govt addresses .. 3 hospitals so yeah yeah yeah coroners reports .. paperwork ... whats that about? People on the job not doing their job.

but @Former-Memberyou have to let the reality of it ... the fire in the belly stuff ... get you to a good position long term .. by your values not anyone elses. That is the only way you may get to help your sibs meaningfully after they leave care.

WORLD please dont insult us by saying that is a care system.

Dont let them con you, but also you are probably genuinely a bit powerless to do much atm. Think long term.

I just got told I have to wait another week for a bail app cos of lazy overpaid legal workers.

SOrry I am OTT atm.

Nice to meet you. REALLY.
