thought it might be cool to get everyone under 30 years old to share their experiences on the forum
just to help each other with "young people stuff"

Re: under 30s thread

It was mostly just grass and a decking area plus the pool but I planted some new things and freshened everything. I made the front yard look pretty good too, put a new path down, move some things around, it looks really good and I'm so glad they like it

Re: under 30s thread

Yeah I can't wait until I can a actually start, I do small jobs here and there but there's a fair bit I can't do until I'm officially qualified and signed off @outlander

Re: under 30s thread

I've already done my course @outlander it's a 4 year apprenticeship. The first 3 years you have to go to Tafe/trade school one day a week (on top of working) . I'm done with that bit now so I just have my final year working. Then I am done 🙂

Re: under 30s thread

oh ok! thats awesome! so now you just work as an independent? or through an employer? until the yrs up then your classed as qualified?

when is your year up so you can start your own buissness? do you have to do a course to start your own or is that covered under the traineeship? @Former-Member

Re: under 30s thread

I work through an employer, the same one for pretty much my whole apprenticeship, it's just like any other job except you have to do some study and the pay is a bit lower than most jobs until you are qualified @outlander
You don't have to start your own business so there's no requirement for that in course, some people go on to just work through an employer other people start up on their own. At my work right now we have a couple of apprentices but the rest are fully qualified. Well my trade school component ended in November I finished all my work and thats all done, I got some RPL and i should have my whole apprenticeship done and finished, fully qualified by June if I don't take any leave and work really hard.

Re: under 30s thread

You have to work with an employwr through your apprenticeship it's how it works, you get paid to study and they teach you what you need to know. The pay compared to other jobs is pretty low, especially if you are under a certain age or first year, but once you get qualified it goes up
