Self Pity Party

Self Pity Party

Is it bad we have self pity days? Like yes I got a mental illness but there are kids staving so do I have the rights to go argh life is not fair?

I'm just having one of those teary weeks. I'm feeling not right. I feel my new medication is working but my mania is coming in hard and is testing my medication and I don't think my medication is going to hold out.

Then I started thinking what if it dosent. I'm going to be sick again and not be able to work or life. Then I started thinking what will people think of me. Then I started thinking well what do people think of bipolar. So now I believe they think I'm purely crazy that's tempomental and you need to walk around egg shells on other wise they will set me off and I'll go into the loony bin. I'm just the nut in the family they discus to others when they discus the crazy person in the family to friends.

And I feel at work they know I'm sick and just think of me as weird. The strange one. I can't communicate or get in the flow with people there.

Literally thinking about quitting my job going on the dole and just become my illness. What's the point of trying to fight it I'm just crazy.

Hello how the F do you deactivate this page. Also love how no moderators have apologised or looked into one of them telling me I wouldn't be a good mum but are happy to delete my posts to save there backs saying it's against rules.

Where dose it in the rules book again say I can't state the truth?

This page is full of clicky people who pretend they are not and when you question it come up with lame excuses and then you question there lame excuse and they don't reply. Zero cares. Just a little cult world. Literally unless you become one of them like a plastic in mean girls your nothing.

Again freaking hell tell me how to get off this page as I'm over receiving emails about other people's problems that are not nice.

Re: Self Pity Party

Hi @Former-Member,

I am so very sorry that you are feeling so unsupported in Forum Land. It meant so much to me when you swung past the ocean the other night when everything (and by everything, I mostly mean me!!!) was in such utter chaos.

I'm sorry that you are seeing Forum Land as clicky. I can totally understand why it would look that way and I hate the fact that this is so. It is a puzzle that has been pondered and I recognise that no solution has yet been found.

As you might have noticed, I spend a LOT of time here in Forum Land. Indeed, at the moment I recognise that I am spending more time here than is healthy for me. Once the muddle of last week settles a bit, I intend to go back to working on limiting my time here more.

The problem is, I do see the issue of newcomers and those who visit less frequently not being as well-supported as they might be, but at the same time, due to the size of Forum Land, it is impossible for me to solve this puzzle. Thus, what I tend to do, is that when I'm in the headspace to support others I will scan through the threads and see which threads haven't got a response yet. If I see that someone is engaging in conversation with others, then I will move on. This isn't because I don't want to support that person, it is simply that I have limited time (and brain capacity!!!) and thus need to be more selective than I would like, about where I put my limited resources. I hate that this is so. I so very badly wish it was different. But alas, it is what it is.

Often I will be in a headspace to be playful, while not being in a space to support someone who is super struggling. Thus you may see me "playing" on some threads while perhaps seeming to ignore someone who is struggling. I am not ignoring them. I recognise that if I try to support someone when I am super struggling myself, then it is likely that I will say something unhelpful and risk causing distress/harm.

It's hard @Former-Member and I so very badly wish I had a solution to the puzzle. But I don't. All I can do is say again how sorry I am that you feel unsupported here in Forum Land. I would very much like you to stay, but at the same time, I respect your choice to leave. Thank you again for dropping by the ocean in the early hours of Friday morning.
